I'm Glenn, MD of Wysdom Dental Technologies a long-established business in the UK. As most will know, healthcare software in clinical settings is still largely desktop and one of the reasons for this is that clinics need uninterrupted access to their patient systems. If not working they can't operate. As part of the upgrading of our own Dental Practice Management System from legacy/desktop we have created, what appears to be, a unique system that runs our full software on an in-house-designed mini-cloud-server in the practice and then again in the cloud, but with synchronised data. This means they are not reliant on their Internet connection and are much more resilient to Cyber and Ransomware attacks as the chances of accessing our local server is much reduced even if the primary cloud service was attacked. Having our mini-cloud server onsite also means it's much easier to connect other local equipment to the system (X-ray for example) as we are on their network. So we have all the advantages of cloud but retaining the benefits of desktop. We call it SyncTech DualHybrid. We are looking for investment to help accelerate the business in general (the Covid effect has been a nightmare) and opportunities to exploit the underlying technology through partnerships with other healthcare software providers.
