Hi, I'm Grace, I live in the East Midlands, and I have a 2 year old "show line" Tervueren called Reuben. I had originally wanted to do agility with him but he really struggles with self control around all the movement and barking, leading to redirection and a lot of stress for us both, so I've parked that for now (hoping to revisit it), and am doing IGP instead which is a whole other challenge. He got his BH October 2023, though I wouldn't call it a solid one. 😅 Since he was around 11/12 months old, he began to show some dog reactivity issues - not every dog, not consistently - and I've been struggling with those ever since. I also struggled with his food drive when he was young but I seem to have overcome that, though he can be "low drive" in general and struggles to focus in busy environments. Bite work for him at the moment is slow going. Anyway, I'm very much looking at working on the basics as I think I'm concentrating on big stuff when the baseline matters most. I've noticed I tend to avoid walking him where I think he might be triggered so I want to do a lot of watching the world from his placemat type stuff and build up to doing small exercises - heel work, dumbbell, send away, etc - out and about. I guess it's those current key phrases - relationship and engagement. And probably confidence for both of us. I'm really bad at filming myself so I'm hoping this will make me accountable to do a bit more of that.

@Nick Benger I'd love to hear more about how you're training for reactivity. I'm always interested in seeing different ideas and approaches.
