Do You Have Facial Assymetry?
I recently just realized that a lot of people that have scoliosis also have facial asymmetry problems, ofcourse not many people are completely 100% symmetrical though I realized for people with scoliosis especially tend to have a lot of facial assymetry problems.. do you experience something similar? Another way you can find out is if there is uneven right-to-left tongue pressure onto the roof of the mouth. // The concept is, your tongue is supposed to rest onto the roof of your mouth which pushes up the maxilla’s, basically two bones (left & right) separated by a small boundary called a suture. And so when putting some pressure by also using a suction hold onto the roof of the mouth, it will upswing you maxilla and make your face will look a lot better And so you can imagine, if you only apply pressure to one side, or pressure more on one side of the maxilla then the other, the maxilla will grow and upswing more on that side then the other, and not to mention the maxilla is also basically right under the eye, and when that develops, the maxilla also pushes up other parts of the skull to be bigger and leaving the side you don’t put much pressure to be smaller, and therefore creating assymetry in the face such as an eye assymetry.. // So just wanted to ask if you experience any noticeable facial assymetry and if you feel any assymetrical pressure of the tongue into the roof of the mouth, anyone? SIDE NOTE: Mewing is best explained by the creator themselves, you can search Dr. Mike Mew

@Mecca Bell funny you say that, my doc and most other docs say the opposite, becuase funny enough, weightlifting increases bone density, strengthens the muscles that hold your spine and stuff (only if your training right and the right muscles) but ofcourse I’m not sure your specific problems and I’m not a medical professional, but I would just say do what works for you, if you train, don’t do exercises that hurt your back, becuase some exercises may be bad for some people whilst those same exercises may be the best ones to others

@Mecca Bell Like my workouts don’t do any pain to my back and i think reduced some of my scoliosis pains and other stuff, but follow your instincts and what you value most

#TIP On Sleep
This is just a tip for sleeping positions for bros that have scoliosis.. Just to get this out of the way, there is no empirical evidence that sleep will make your scoliosis worse, so don't shit your pants worrying what position to sleep in to not clap your scoliosis. (Sleep in the position that works 4 you to get good sleep): Actionable Steps: 1. use pillow not big enough to not jut head forward 2. choose what position to sleep on (Front/Side/Back) 3. if chose side sleeping, sleep on concave side if you have C-curve, but any side for S-curve but put towel under convex side of second curve 4. if chose front sleeping, put pillows under tummy/pelvis area 5. if chose back sleeping, (can choose to) put pillows/cuishin under knees // when sleeping with a pillow. Make sure its not too big that it juts your head out of alignment with your body and your chin going towards chest. This can cause multiple problems, & even block your airway // Sleeping positions that may not be the best 4 u: 1. Sleeping on your front 2. Sleeping on your side But if these positions work for u, stick to them, these are the things that can be done to compensate for these positions and actually make these positions awesome for your scoliosis: // Sleeping On Your Front: Take 2 Pillows, stack them on top of each other and put them (horizontally) under your tummy/pelvis area. (this prevents the lower back being too arched, just make sure use pillow size(z) that does not make you go too high) // Sleeping on Your Side: For C-curve dudes, since its just one curve, sleep on the concave side of the scoliosis e.g. if your scoliosis from the back view bends to the left, that means its concave on the right, so sleep on your right, For S-curve dudes, since its two curves, you can sleep on any side, just make sure to plop a rolled towel under, or close to the curve that is on its convex side to better align the Spine. e.g. from a back view, your spine bends to left in the upper bend, but to the right in the lower bend,
