Why do you guys think it’s important not to have nicknames as usernames on Instagram?

I made it to 10,000 subscribers on YouTube today. I started with 0, like any other humble person. 2019: 0 2020: 763 2021: 1,437 2022: 2,567 2023: 5,655 2024: 10,000 In 22 months I managed to take a small hobby and turn it into a career, making the decision at the end of December 2022 to go ALL FUCKING IN when my wife underwent brain surgery to remove whatever the doctors could of her brain tumor, which was discovered only a week before. Her tumor was the size of a tennis ball. I refused to fucking sit there and do nothing while surgeons open the human skull and stab at the brain while she's awake throughout the whole thing. Days after her brain surgery, we were informed that her tumor was cancerous. And it will most likely kill her. I stuck to my instincts to keep fucking going, knowing that I would be restricted to the confinements of my own living space. I wouldn't be able to have my own podcast studio with the collaborations I was after, as I was living in a city where the only possible collaborator would basicaly be JustPearlyThings. We were far from our real homes, and she was unable to go back. Thus, so was I. Nearly 18 months of cancer treatment left us stranded in what might as well be a few rooms in the sky with a hospital attached to it, surrounded by nothing else but the abyss of where we couldn't be, with nowhere to go until the treatment is over. Thus, I produced videos from my living room using nothing but a shitty built-in webcam, a gaming laptop and a Zoom membership. I later upgraded a few things by acquiring a better webcam, a ring light and a microphone. Until Spring 2023, I still had a full time career, which demanded more than 50 hours of my time every week. I had to move on from it. I could not spend my valuable time working for some company while my family dies. I could not possibly let myself go to work for however much money, only for my wife to die while I'm chasing money somewhere else. It would be like selling out. I took the risk and jumped off the safety of my career, into the unknown.

21 October - 27 October 2024 The Producer of Louis Theroux's documentaries came into contact with me, and we had a nice long meeting. They are in the planning stages for a documentary on the 'manosphere'. I interviewed Dr Robert Whitley, a McGill University Professor who did a study on the pickup artist community. Just released the video on YouTube. I connected with him based on memory, by remembering what he looked like from a video he was in at least 6 years ago, and searching until I matched the face in my memory with the field of study. I found the right guy. Didn't take me long. Proceeding with plans to do a video with Pearl Davis (JustPearlyThings) and Haliey Welch (Hawk Tuah Girl). Throw in your ideas, this is gonna be hilarious. Gained 133 followers on Instagram in the last 7 days. Reels. Reels. Reels. You're wasting your fucking time asking for advice on which irrelevant photo to use. Back in 2017 my strategy was posting photos of/with girls in every 3rd photo. The game has changed. Reels and originality. Nobody fucking cares about that photo of you lifting weights. That's not what gets 1,000,000 views. What gets 1,000,000 views is ass, titties and reels. In the next few days I will reach 10,000 subscribers on YouTube. I dabbled in YouTube for years, but I never expected it to become such a thing for me. I find myself climbing a mountain I didn't particularly aspire to climb, but it has given me many opportunities and much networking power. Even before I reached 4,000 or 5,000. The power isn't in the numbers, but in something else. I tell people it's because I hold the core audience of the pickup community. But maybe it's something else that makes what I do attractive to my collaborators. I continue my journey. Why am I writing this like a journal entry of an explorer venturing to the South Pole? I don't know. Okay, I'll stop.
