Publication question (please help)
do colleges and research programs care where you publish? i found a journal run by some institution in india thats pretty sketchy according to online stuff but they are google scholar pubmed indexed and only cost 45 to publish or can i settle for a high school journal but not the super expensive predatory ones https://ijsrst.com/index.php/home and this is similar story: https://www.cureus.com also i dont wanna spend ages figuring out publishing after writing a long as paper

I think the word publish should not be just limited to college admission process. It should have a valuable meaning to your academics. And publishing is not important, where you are publishing is much more important. And I think this is exactly what college admission officers look for.

So what would be your top 5 schools for BME and what strategy would you apply while searching? consider an acceptance rate about 20 to 40% and for undergraduate studies

Introduce Yourself in this thread!
Hey, my name is Rishab. I'm a student at Harvard College studying Neuroscience. I am most interested in Neuro x AI, and do research at Massachusetts General Hospital. I started coding when I was 6-years-old, making Android apps with my elder brother. When I was 13, I created a deep learning tool for segmenting the pancreas from CT and MRI scans, and was named one of TIME's 25 Most Influential Teens and America's Top Young Scientist. During COVID, as a freshman in high school, I made a Discord bot that reached 3M users, which taught me about product design and marketing. In my junior year, I started working on ICOR, which won Regeneron's Young Scientist Award at the International Science and Engineering Fair and was my first research publication. As a freshman at harvard, I am currently building ICOR further, and have also been involved in the education space, introducing research to young students. I am the chair of the International Research Olympiad — which reached over 3,000 students in its first year, and founder of the Qurios Institute — which help teaches research to young students. The Qurios team is currently building sciencefair.io under my guidance to help cultivate youth to get involved in science research through projects. Hi. My name is Jawad Islam, an incoming college freshmen from Peshawar, Pakistan. I am an athlete loving to play Football and rickets. I am thinking of major to go in Biomedical Engineering and would like to have a scholarship for my studies. Besides this, I also run a YouTube channel about graphic designing. At last, I think here is no one present from Pakistan? https://youtube.com/@jawadhuxaifa?si=GmuFv81I9XTuFMxz
