Ok this is good. 2 things to think about first: #1 - no need to say you are going to start by asking a question - just ask the question - it is tighter and more concise and gets to the point faster. #2 - Your hand gestures are all the same from 33 seconds in to 2:43 seconds. Better to have them out of the shot and coming into the shot every once in awhile. You are clear, well paced, good ideas and logical content. Great structure.

New Calls Added
Hello everyone, I have added another batch of calls to the calendar. These have been split into beginner and intermediate calls. As always, you can attend any call you want. If you have been training for less than 3 months I strongly urge you to make the beginner classes. Some of the ideas and concepts in the intermediate will be a bit foreign to beginners. And please let me know if there is a better timeframe moving forward. I will be evaluating these times monthly and changing them based on attendance as necessary. Thank you all for being here with me! Jeff

You are welcome!
Practice topic: failure
https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/j95ia1faiohfs9h8xqzxv/19-Nov-2024-practice.MOV?rlkey=nwbx8iy6bds4gkocxakqnpu3l&st=wbjd5txl&dl=0 @Jeff Torrans, I practised again with the same topic again. Appreciate your feedback. What went well: a more concise story to back up my point. What was tricky: I was conscious of what I was talking about, so I distracted myself. And I was a bit choppy at the end. What would I do differently next time: try not to be too conscious of my own words and relax more.

Great hook, nice and compact. You looked great, smiling and confident with a message to deliver. Great pace, easy to hear and understand even with the rooster in the background! We often use too many words in between the start and finish and neglect repetition. The more I research into this, the more I see the value of repetition almost every 3rd statement or so. "This is what my topic is, this is why my topic matters, this is my story about this topic, this is what I learned about this topic, can you see me learning about my topic yet? My topic is this, and this is why my topic is so important, I learned this from my topic and you can learn this from my topic too." How many times is your "topic" mentioned in the above (strange) quote? Feel free to repeat.
Practice topic: Why I set up two alarms.

Great. You can try putting your introduction at any point in your speeches now. You can do Point, Intro, Reasons, Point. Hook, point, intro reasons story point. That kind of idea. If you want feel free to hold a pen in your hands while you speak, they were a bit all over the place, making me think you were unsure (my opinion is all). Great gestures. Good recoveries when you trip over your words. "Overslept" with a bit of a chuckle is awesome. Great finish too.
Week of Nov 11th Assignment
https://photos.app.goo.gl/FFEqUtYYAvfcZHu36 What went well: I can be expressive with my face as I am telling my story. I'm smiling a lot when I speak I sound confident when I feel confident My voice has the potential to be dynamic - and I like the sound of my voice when it is dynamic

I agree with all your ideas above. This is the first time you did it but the second time I have heard it right? If there was one thing it would be to refer to the point more often. Every stage of your "climbing journey" is a step outside your comfort zone. It's ok to remind us of that. Pace is great. Clear, fun to listen to. I'll say this as well - you are fun to watch as a speaker. I can often come across as dour so I appreciate how you present yourself on video.
