Ethical Concerns in AI Discussion πŸ€”
What is one ethical concern you have encountered or can foresee with the use of AI in your nursing, and how do you think it should be addressed? I would love to hear your thoughts! 😊

Hi Kalolo, having attended many seminars and workshops on AI lately there are a number of concerns. The "black box" issue is one that needs addressed first, I think. We don't often understand whats under the hood of AI, how does it work, how does it reach the conclusions it does. Because of this we get the second concerns and that is trust. How can we trust something we can't understand? This leads to ethical issues related to the data it haas been trained on, unconscious bias in the designing of the algorithms and how do we know when bias has occurred? I think AI designers need to pay attention to the concerns of users and take steps to help us understand everything we need to, to have trust.

Currently a clinical informatician but a nurse by background and with an interest in all things digital. Nurse with geeky tendencies that's me!
