Open vs closed band strumming.
I noticed that Iโve built a 20 year habit of leaving my hand open while I strum. And while itโs not a big deal after three hours of playing and tapping the guitar inadvertently with my fingers, I get finger-slapping fatigue (not the fun kind). So Iโm trying to learn how to play with a closed fist. But itโs so uncomfortable. I feel rigid and unable to โflow.โ so Iโm thinking if I adjusted my strumming angle, I could keep my fingers open. I feel like Iโve always had a 20 year habit of striking in towards the Pick Guard from the top. Never a straight drum down.
