Investment Banking Blog
Hi everyone, I wanted to share that I have a blog dedicated to investment banking. I’ve written about topics such as the importance of DCF financial modelling in M&A transactions, deal synergies, and the role of Global Banking & Markets in the global economy. I’d love to hear your thoughts and feedback. If there are specific topics you’d like to see covered, please let me know! Here is the link: https://investmentfrontiercom.wordpress.com/?_gl=1*23x3t4*_gcl_au*NDIxOTYxMDMyLjE3MjQxNDk0MDY. Thanks for your time!

Just wondering if anyone knows any good places to get good DCF, LBO etc templates to practice financial modelling. Thanks

Application timings
Quick question for everyone, especially first year uni students looking at spring weeks. As many will recognise applications are opening/have opened for spring weeks and I have found myself wondering what the preference is for timing of application. As someone who definitely needs to build out their profile more and gain improved experiences and positions for their CV/Cover letter. Do people think an earlier yet weaker application or a later on but stronger application is more desireable? Keen to hear thoughts.

@Aaron Kunje Depending on how close your application deadline is there are a number of different things you can do. if applying next year, you could try and get an internship/experience with a firm at some point before, or if it was a closer application deadline you could see if there are any virtual insight programs or events that you could attend or you could start a blog talking about M&A or financial modelling, e.g. DCF, LBO etc. Basically you are just trying to build a narrative of why you want to go into IB and trying to show through your experiences why you are interested in this career path. Would love to hear some other suggestions as well
spring weeks
I know for most spring weeks, they say that eligibility is for 1st years in a 3 year degree or 2nd years in a 4 year degree. Just wondering, are you eligible to apply for spring weeks as a 1st year in a 4 year degree and if so, would submitting an application in your first year affect your future eligibility/application for the next year(s)

Furthering CV for spring week applications (All advice appreciated)
Taking inspiration from the classroom CV course, I've decided that it would be interesting to write a blog post on Medium. I would appreciate any topics that people would enjoy reading and that could potentially be beneficial for my CV. (Haven't decided between IB and VC yet)

You could talk about the state of the deals/M&A market given current macroeconomic conditions or current vc investment levels - volume and/or value of deals. Here is something on European VC activity https://www.linkedin.com/posts/johnny-mcnamara_vc-ventureoutlook-equityinvestment-activity-7223635422285828096-BKeA?utm_source=share&utm_medium=member_desktop
