Sup everyone I'm Manny glad to have found this awesome community. I was an obese kid growing up but I always wanted to join the military. I knew I needed to get in shape and toughen up and thought there was no better place than an MMA gym. As soon as I saved up enough money I signed up to Riptide MMA at 16 and been a member since. I can honestly say it probably saved my life I was headed down the road to bad health. I still slip back to my old habits but training always gets me back on track. I've learned that staying active and healthy is the key to a sound mind, and recently got back into reading the Bible and connecting with God. I start my Mondays knowing I'm not where I want to be in life, which motivates me to get there.

@Carter Barrett Thx brother as is yours to me!
Introduction
Sup everybody my name is Manuel Furtado. I'm 26 years old from Uruguay but have lived in the U.S since I was 4. I started my MMA journey at 16 and had my first MMA fight at 18. Life has had its ups and downs but MMA has always been an anchor for me no matter where life took me. I want to make it Pro one day but have recently been focusing on just prioritizing my finances and studying for a better job. I feel like if I would've stayed training consistently those 10 years since I started I would be in a better position to go pro, but you can't change the past, only work towards the future. Fun facts: Am studying cyber security and programming. But I've been getting into a lot of game development stuff as well. Would be awesome if I could make a game that would make enough profit to where I could just train. That's another one of my goals.
