Really good stuff thanks, I also find the forestry commission maps useful. One thought would also be to look at “companion” plants that thrive in the same conditions

Would the group recommend getting a pH meter to test soil pH? If so, does anyone have a recommendation of a good meter?

I have been using the Landis soil maps for identifying potential sites…went to a lovely wood this morning, in theory, with exactly the right soil type but no luck today so we did some training so still a worthwhile trip!
