The Legacy of a Legend Iris Apfel
Today, as I reflect on the passing of the incomparable Iris Apfel at the age of 102, my heart is filled with sadness and admiration. Iris was not just a centenarian; she was a force of nature whose life defied the conventional boundaries of age and time. A businesswoman, a fashion model, a global fashion icon, a dedicated college professor, the star of her documentary, and even immortalized as a Barbie doll - Iris was all these things and so much more. Her journey was relentless creativity, passion, and an unapologetic embrace of individuality. Iris taught us that age is truly just a number and that living our one precious life to the fullest means breaking molds, challenging stereotypes, and always adding a splash of color. Even in her final days, Iris had unfinished business, with her book "Colorful" set to be published in August. It promises to be a testament to her vibrant life and the critical moments she vividly brought to life. Her legacy is a colorful tapestry of achievements, inspirations, and a reminder that we must all seize the day, every day. Thank you, Iris, for showing us the beauty of living boldly at any age. Your spirit, your style, and your zest for life will forever inspire those of us who were fortunate enough to witness your remarkable journey. Rest in peace, and may your lessons guide us to live colorfully and courageously. #IrisApfel #Legend #FashionIcon #InspirationalLife #ColorfulLegacy

Frequency for calming dementia agitation
I’ve been studying frequency now for a few years and have implemented sound during my senior sessions with WONDERFUL results. I’d love to hear from others who have tried this.💪🏽

Hydration in Older Adults
According to a recent National Institutes of Health study, eBioMedicine examines how adults who stay well-hydrated may be healthier and develop fewer chronic conditions. Hydration is one of those things most of us don't think about. If we are thirsty, we drink. Simple, right, but not for everyone. It may be more difficult for older people to get enough fluid. As we age, we do not have the same sense of thirst, and the body naturally has less water. Water is vital for a healthy body. Here are a few tips to improve hydration: Start first thing in the morning, taking little sips throughout the day. Use an attractive, comfortable vessel to hold; it can go with you. Mix it up by adding flavor to the water, but be mindful of too much sugar—a splash of fruit juice and just enough flavored water with a slice of fruit🍋 will do the trick. Add foods high in water💦, such as watermelon🍉, celery🥗, or cucumber🥒. If someone is living with a chronic condition such as heart failure, always check with your HCP before increasing hydration. "Water is the only drink for a wise man."- Henry David Thoreau.

Making it accessible is key, I keep several travel sized water bottles in the fridge so all they have to do is grab one. Excellent post, thank you for sharing. Hydration is just sooooo important 💪🏽🙏🏻
