For this week's challenge, I knew I wanted to design something that looked more mechanical. Early iterations I took more inspiration from the amphipod, moving in a direction that was similar to the ecology of Horizon Zero. In that exploration I found myself trying to incorporate more of the megaphone, either physically with sound systems on/in the creature to conceptually, with how it may have used sonar/echolocation. Eventually I moved from an animalistic design to more humanoid, and trying to implement more of the megaphone and sounds into the design. Using the amphipod's exoskeleton as a inspiration on the layering of the armor plates and some of he colors as well. With the final design I tried drawing further inspiration from Gundams/Mechas, and Echo Echo from Ben 10. And implemented the ring with how some of the bits that hold the gem look like they're floating.
