Finished Filming New Course!
Big announcement! The new Editor Accelerator Mini Course will be coming very very soon. The course is designed to get video editors to understand what makes great editing and landing clients as soon as possible 💰 It’s 115 slides of PURE GOLD that I’ve personally written and can GUARANTEE will get you results if you implement it 💯 (not such a “mini” course lol) For the creators in here, don’t worry, it’s not just about landing clients… Inside the course you’ll also learn all the most important editing theories, fundamentals, and all of my top tips for editing long form & short form content 💻 The course is focused more on understanding editing as a whole, what makes good vs bad editing, and less on the technical tips like how to do keyframes for example. The information about editing will take you much further than focusing on the technical tips like keyframes or animations. If you don’t know why you should have an animation, knowing how to create one doesn’t matter. I’m super excited to almost be done with this, I’ve been wanting to release a course for so long now and I’m finally on the home stretch of just putting the pieces together in the edit. If you’re excited comment your favorite GIF below 👇🔥

Drop Your Portfolios!
Right now i'm looking at working with this Finance company that a friend is putting me onto but if that doesn't work out I want to start working with some clients and editing for them. Would be dope if I could see some other portfolios so I can have some inspiration for how I should make mine.

5 Days in McDonalds Trailer Edit
Just a little W to share with y’all, sent over the trailer for IBP’s massive 5 Days in McDonalds series coming up, and they loved it, no changes needed. Here’s a SNEAK PEAK of the 5 Days trailer here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1sDMLMZ9SwF-ywFFW8hdvwZdgEcWTFDQQ/view?usp=drivesdk My biggest thing I focused on was 1. Telling a story with the footage & clips I picked 2. Creating an emotion of intensity, tension, curiosity, and seriousness throughout the entire video 3. Creating a rhythm of quick cuts contrasted with slowed down moments of voiceover that emphasizes that feeling of serious intensity. And if you remember the 3 rules of editing… Emotion, Story & Rhythm, those were the Big 3 things I focused on and because of that, the decisions I made in the edit were all to support those 3 rules. Let me know if you have any questions about my thought process, any decisions I made that you notice, any edits I pulled off you’re curious about, literally anything! Comment below and let me know your questions & thoughts! Love y’all! - Norman

Big Client Scored Today (and how I did it)
Yo, you guys! Today I landed a dream client, and I had to share it with you all. If you’re not familiar with Preston Goes, he’s an up-and-coming YouTuber who makes super entertaining content, like building train go-karts or literal houseboats. His whole vibe is goofy, genuine, and just fun, and he’s someone I’ve looked up to for a while. I’ve always admired his storytelling, and honestly, as a person, he seems to line up with what I value. So, last night at midnight, I woke up to this text from him saying he wanted to work with me on his next video! Needless to say, I was ecstatic. We’re working out the details now, but I wanted to give you guys a quick breakdown of how I landed him as a client, and maybe it’ll help you land your dream creator too. Step 1: Identify who you want to work for. Step 2: Deep dive into their channel. - Watch a few of their videos, and really study them. I used Notion and broke it down beat by beat, minute by minute, to get a full understanding of what makes them unique. Step 3: Take action. - For me, I made a funny video because Preston always includes these goofy little singing segments in his content. So, I made a song about how I wanted to be his editor and added some elements of his style to match his energy. I sent it to him on Instagram with a simple, ‘Hey, check this out. Let’s talk.’ Step 4: Wait. - It’s a patience game, guys. I sent my video in at the end of July, and he didn’t respond for about a week. We had a great conversation, but he told me not to expect anything for a few months while he phased out his old editor. - I moved on, worked on other things, and finally, a month and a half later, he reached back out to have me do a test edit. Hopefully, this gives you some ideas for how to approach your dream creator. Be patient, be creative, and shoot your shot. You never know what might happen!
