It’s 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it
When Stress Seems To Be Taking Over Your Life, Read This
This week, I had the chance to spend some time with a British guy who had moved to Fiji in his 30's. πŸ‡«πŸ‡― He's now 90. Needless to say, it was a time I'll never forget. His family welcomed me into their home like I was one of them. 🏑 πŸ‘‰ It put a lot of things in perspective: > Almost without fail the most stressful times make for really good stories later (or learning experiences). > In the grand scheme of things, you'll have wished later that you didn't stress as much. The only one hurting was you. > Love wins. Always. Sometimes, it's you, though, who has to take the first step. > Zoom out: how will you feel about this situation 5 years from now? Pride about how you handled it? Grateful for the learning experience? Amazed at how well you navigated life? > When situations seem like all hope is lost, there's always a way...it's just that you didn't know yet how it looked like as it was a very different solution from what you expected. So, be clear on what outcome you want. Do you want to experience calmer mornings? Sleep through the night? Feel energized throughout the day, no matter what happens? You don't always have to know HOW it'll happen. You just have to have clarity on what and how that'll feel like. πŸ§˜β€β™€οΈ

@Gabriel Abayomi I so much relate to this
The Good Ol' Gratitude
Before going to bed today, write down at least 5 things you were grateful for today. The more senses you use when describing it the better the effect on your overall well-being (I heard, I smelled, I ate....). What's one thing you can share that you're grateful for? To me, it's just experiencing beautiful weather and lots of sunshine for really long hours in the day. Studies* have shown that gratitude improves subjective and psychological well-being, better resilience to trauma, and higher quality social relationships. *(Emmons and McCullough, 2003; Froh et al., 2008; Kashdan et al., 2006; Algoe et al., 2008; Lambert et al., 2010; Wood et al., 2008a, 2009)
