A1 Exam Inquiry
Hi everyone, I have 2 exams left for my 2nd Class. I have my A1 booked for later this month. It will be the wriiten format. Is the PE 101 A1 practice exam similar to the essay style format, or is it multiple choice? Also, any suggestions for how to prepare for my A1 exam? What are the questions like. How much applied mechanics are usually on the exam? Should I focus on admin type stuff? Or .... Thanks

Hi Hugh, since 2A1 is still written until January, we have do not have any multiple choice breakdowns to share. The written exam typically has 2-3 codes questions, 2-3 applied mechanics questions and 1-3 legislation, plant design/maintenance, management and safety questions. When we have multiple choice breakdowns to share, we will do so on our site, email update and social media.

Passed 3b2. 3 more exams to go
Just passed my 3b2 . Thank you power engineering 101 team. The 3b2 practice exam questions were quite helpful Wording was quite tricky on this one. Lots of turbine, compressors, gas turbine, pumps and refrigeration questions. Some weird admin and cooling tower questions thrown in
