Fitness Accomplishments
C'mon, brag a little...What accomplishments or goals have you met fitness wise as a father/dad? I love having something to work towards and find it to be a type of therapy as I push myself towards physical goals. Here are mine: -x2 half marathons -x1 marathon -Zion 20mile trail race -Ran 4 miles every 4 hours for 48 hours (Goggin's challenge) -Benched 315lbs -80hr fast (one of the hardest things I have done) -MURPH under 50min What should I do in 2025? I am so scared of triathlons because of the swimming!

@Bryson Pola that’s a huge win to get more time back with family and your own health!
Why Workout?
Why do you workout? Working out as a father and husband can be a daunting task. You are already tired (no matter what time of day it is) and probably have a dozen other things that need your attention. I work out because I refuse to be lazy through my kids childhood. I want to be the dad that is playing sports with my kids, going on hikes, wake surfing, on the mat coaching wrestling, etc. Ya know, superman.

Well what kind of trainer would I be if I wasn’t working out 😆. I’m not raising my kids to be a hypocrite. I want to be the athletic dad and grandad God-willing that can be highly engaged in his kids sports like you mentioned @Jace Kelly . Plus all the all the long term mental and physical health benefits and lesson it shows kids of the fruit and labor of hard work.
Balance? Never Heard Of It
It seems like everyone always wants to talk about balance. "You just gotta have balance" or "find balance and you will be happy". I use to think that meant my days, weeks, and months are balanced with the right amount of work, exercise, time with family, learning, spirituality, etc... Now I am starting to think the only real achievable balance will be measured in decades. I am being pulled in too many directions right now to have the luxury of balance. If I prioritize something then another thing must be sacrificed. I think there are a lot of dads in the same boat and I think what is sacrificed is often our mental health. I just don't have time for a spa day!

Definitely would love to discuss this more. Hormozi talks about the fact that we all have our own blueprint of what balance looks like. For him its working 12-16 hours per day. So don’t let the people preaching balance dictate what our own balance means.
Unforeseen skills
I think this might be helpful for expecting and existing dads. What are skills you never considered you’d have to learn before becoming a dad?

I’ll share an example. Learning how to trim or file infant and toddler finger and toenails 😆.
