Hi there Melitta. Sorry I missed the session, but I have listened to the replay. I have developed a system for myself which is remarkably similar to yours. I use a template that I made myself. V simple, a table on Word. I add lines at the top of the table, so that today is always at the top of the document - no scrolling down unless to look for something. I start a new table each year. For some years I have used it every day. I listed things for gratitude and also had a column for visualisations and affirmations to help keep me going. I have a column for routine things to do every day - eg learning some Portuguese (because i live here and want to get better but also learning languages is a hobby of mine). Then I have a column for something I need to do that particular day. As you say it is easy to keep up as a lot of it is repetitive. Of course I do miss out doing it some days and have to do a catch up or something but I treat myself kindly! A few months ago I started working with an accountability friend. We work together on zoom at the same time but on our own tasks. We do a pomodoro 30 minutes then have a 5-10 minute chat on what we've done, maybe get a coffee or do a few little exercises/stretches. We do 3 such half hour sessions 3 times a week although we are flexible about it. As a result I have sort of changed my list and now tend to list actions to take during the week rather than on a daily basis. On the whole, I think the daily system for planning/working out what to do works better and there is a real pleasure in ticking off the daily routines in the done column! But I'm still working on improving a weekly list, so the jury is still out. Thanks for your excellent session on getting stuff done.

It's amazing what an accountability buddy does for productivity.

You are so right but some times it is hard to ask for help.

Hi there Irina, you need to start cold water very slowly. Start with a few seconds of cold showers (the water in Switzerland is usually very cold). Always start off with your feet and then work the water up your legs, arms, then onto your torso, front and then back. Don't try to do the whole of yourself straight away, just start with the area you are training, I recommend your feet and work up your body, for as long as you need to feel a bit braver. Warm up with a nice bit of warm water to actually wash in. When you feel accustomed to that, then try paddling in a cold lake, a stream or a pond - just your feet to begin. You have a lovely big lake near you in Lausanne! (I have paddled in it closer to Geneva.) Look for safe places to get your feet into the water. Shallow mountain streams can be good but be careful of holes in the riverbed that make it deeper than you think and don't get in if it is fast running. Sit on a jetty or a river bank and dangle your feet in the water to begin. Practise until you get used to it and until it feels stimulating and inspiring. Then pull your trousers higher and walk in a little bit more. Here is a picture of me paddling in a glacier melt stream (just in France but in the Alps.) I worked up to be able to do it for 5 minutes and more but it took me some weeks. Eventually you'll find that you can laugh while you do it and just the thought makes you feel more cheerful. A friend of mine now regularly swims in the lake in Luzern, throughout the year. I have learned to jump into the Mediterranean off my boat in the summer without screaming. Allow yourself a year and marvel at how much braver you are at the end of the year. Have loads of FUN!! Best of luck with the business.

Sometimes it's difficult to get something out there rather than getting sucked into improving.
