Prepare for the Future: The Wisdom of Saving for Slower Months
As entrepreneurs and business owners, we know that not every season is as busy as the next. Proverbs 21:20 tells us, “The wise store up choice food and olive oil, but fools gulp theirs down.” This verse reminds us of the importance of setting aside resources for future needs, just as the wise save for the lean times. It’s tempting to enjoy all the fruits of our labor during busy seasons, but being smart with your earnings—by saving and planning ahead—ensures you can weather slower months without stress. Building a financial cushion allows you to stay focused on your goals and opportunities, not just on the immediate challenges. Just as Joseph stored up grain in Egypt for the years of famine (Genesis 41), we too must prepare for times when business may slow down. By saving now, you're protecting your business, your family, and your peace of mind for the future. Stay diligent, be a good steward of your resources, and trust that your preparation today will provide security for tomorrow! Keep em Clean!

Man this rings so true!! No one told me when moving my family to Texas that roofing (especially for beginners) was seasonally until you started to build up a pipeline. Many lessons learned and many more still too learn. Thanks for your guidance and words of wisdom.
Hi everyone,
I wanted to introduce myself. I am Ross Riker, me & my family just moved to Dallas Forth Worth metroplex from South Florida (Yes we miss the beaches), but for our family this is a better place to raise a family. I found GCU via Brett on YouTube, our stories are very similar. I am starting my new career as a Project Manager for New View Roofing (as well as starting a gutter cleaning/service business to go hand & hand with Roofing) so if anyone is in the DFW area & wants to connect/network, I am all for helping grow each other's business. Have a great weekend everyone.

Appreciate that brother. I use to have a pool service & gutter cleaning business over 14 years ago back in Florida. Excited to be part of the community you are building. If your ever in the Dallas area let’s get together.
My Review of Quote IQ So Far
After using Quote IQ for a few weeks, I have to say I'm not impressed. The CRM feels slow and clunky, and the user interface could use some serious improvements. Some of the features that were advertised don't seem to work as smoothly as I expected either. I'm going to finish out my month with it, but more than likely I'll be making the switch to Jobber or HouseCall Pro. Anyone else had a similar experience or recommendations for a solid CRM?

I have not used a CRM yet but have heard positive praise about Jobber. I do not have first hand experience with it yet tho.
