The Structure Of Skool (basic overview)
Skool groups consist of three main zones, accessible via tabs along the top. Funnily enough, they all begin with 'C' and are as follows: ๐Ÿ“Œ COMMUNITY, where you're reading this. The most important place, where we all hang out and chat. ๐Ÿ“Œ CLASSROOM. The place for any and all resources I have to offer you, including downloads and videos. This section will grow and develop over time. ๐Ÿ“Œ CALENDAR. The place where we can all see upcoming group events. ๐Ÿ•น๐Ÿ•น๐Ÿ•น GAME ON! ๐Ÿ•น๐Ÿ•น๐Ÿ•น Skool communities have a fun gamification element baked in. Whenever another member hits Like on one of your comments or posts, you earn one point - and the more you earn, the more you progress up through the levels. ๐Ÿ”ฅ Reaching Level 2 here at Community Starters allows you to unlock my handy Skool Community Starters checklist PDF, which will help you ensure you're ready to usher in new members. Don't worry, it doesn't take long to reach Level 2! The gaps between Levels get wider as you ascend through the ranks, but they start off pretty narrow. ๐Ÿ‘Š You might also want to have a read of my Medium article about Skool and the basics of communities here. Always feel free to ask any questions you have about these main features of Skool, whether you're responding to this post or starting a new question post of your own. And trust me, NO question is stupid. ๐Ÿ‘Š

WELCOME! Here's the place to start
Hi there, O builder of worlds. Thank you for joining us. Whether you have yet to start a community or are a seasoned Skool, I want this to be a place where everybody has fun and helps each other. Rather than being a community based around me preaching as some kind of Skool expert, in Community Starters we can all share information, discoveries, help and support, as we watch each other's communities grow and flourish - or talk each other into starting new ones! Here are a few things you could do next: ๐Ÿ”ฅ Introduce yourself with a comment below. Tell us: ... where in the world you are ... where you are on your Skool journey ... what you like to do for fun ... whatever else you'd like to share ๐Ÿ”ฅ Post a question for me and/or the group members to answer. - Perhaps you're still trying to figure out what your community topic should be - or maybe you already have a pretty shrewd idea and would like feedback? - Or perhaps you'd like to know how Skool works in terms of structure, features or something else? This place is all about being a helpful sounding board. - If you have a community, perhaps you'd like some friendly feedback on your About page from me and the other members? Ask away! - Hit the poll icon along the bottom of your post if incorporating multiple-choice votes would make for an extra-useful response. ๐Ÿ”ฅ Respond to one of the posts that already exist here, perhaps to share your own knowledge, or opinion, or support. ๐Ÿ”ฅ Check out this video course about Skool basics in our Classroom. ๐Ÿ”ฅ Or just sit back and absorb the posts and conversations as they happen! ๐Ÿ•น Whenever another member hits Like on one of your comments or posts, you earn one point - and the more you earn, the more you progress up through the levels. ๐ŸŽ Reaching Level 2 here at Community Starters allows you to unlock my handy Skool Community Starters checklist PDF, which will help you ensure you're ready to usher in new members. (Don't worry, you only need five points to reach Level 2!)

How Skool's Discovery page works and how to rank on it
Depending on how long you've been at Skool, you may or may not be aware of the Skool Discovery page. Maybe it's how you found this community. Let me know if so? The Discovery page is essentially an internal search engine for Skool. There are two ways to find your ideal community: 1) Plug a search term into the search box, such as 'Satanism and cream cakes'. ๐Ÿ‘€ Orrrr whatever floats your boat. 2) Click on one of the various categories that sit in a row beneath the search box. Each community has a Discovery page ranking - a number that you can see superimposed over your community image. Naturally, every creator wants their community to rank as highly as possible. So how do we: (1) Appear in Discovery in the first place? (2) Get our community to appear in search results? and (3) Get our community to rank higher IN those search results? ๐Ÿ’ฅAPPEARING ON THE DISCOVERY PAGE To do this, we need to get a few things in place as follows: โœ… about three community members, minimum โœ… a cover image for your community โœ… at least one image on your About page โœ… some About page text Here's how Skool itself words this: "Your group needs to meet a minimum threshold of members, posts, and activity to show in discovery. You also need a good group description, about page description, group cover image, and some photos/videos on your about page." Basically, Skool doesn't want to show your community to visitors until it's looking presentable. This makes sense for you too. Check that Skool has chosen the right category for your group - and if they haven't, drop their lovely people a friendly email to ask for it to be switched. ๐Ÿ’ฅAPPEARING IN SEARCH RESULTS So, once you're on Discovery, how can you ensure you show up when someone searches for your topic? The main thing that I've found is to include relevant keywords in your about page and group description. Just as with YouTube keywords, you want to make sure your copy flows well and naturally, and doesn't show signs of keyword stuffing.

The third way to end your free Skool trial
It's easy to imagine that there are only two ways to end your free 14-day Skool trial: 1๏ธโƒฃ You decide to pay your first monthly $99 and continue to build and grow your community. OR 2๏ธโƒฃ You decide not to continue and forfeit the community you've built during your 14 days. What a lot of people don't realise, though, is that there's a third option if you don't currently feel able to either make the decision or fund your group. 3๏ธโƒฃ You can archive your group. ๐Ÿ”ฅ Do this before your 14 days are up and whatever you've built during your trial will be frozen in storage! You'll be able to see it, but not edit it, unless you reactivate the group and pay your first $99. So it's good to know that your free trial doesn't have to end with an all-or-nothing decision, right? Do ask any questions you have about this - or react with a suitable gif. ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ‘Š
