1. Small church with no choir. No current opportunities to sing like I used to with my girls - married or off to college. I miss singing cool and even challenging things! 2. Because it's been fun! I may not interact more than a time or two each week, but I do enjoy reading things people share! And the virtual choir is something I'm excited to see grow. I've only participated in one other such and I never saw results from that one, so I don't know if my submission got included or not....😶 3. I have told people! Some sound mildly interested but most not enough to get the info.

@Jake Beal hmmmm. Maybe because I'm not giving enough specific info? Or maybe I've not shared it with the right people. For some, it's not the right timing, I think - life responsibilities already have them occupied otherwise.

Howdy Everybody!
Well, everyone, I just wanted to stop by with a big Howdy! and introduce myself. I am a past church youth, adult, and children's choir director and have been leader and co-leader of our worship team for the past 24 years. I play flute and piccolo and am learning the clarinet. I am a mezzo soprano and sing mostly descant harmony to our pastor's tenor and his wife's soprano. When I have bronchitis, I can sing tenor rather well. :) I have a minor in music performance (primarily flute with some voice) and a BA in Modern Foreign Languages (French and Spanish) and a Masters Degree in PreK-12 Special Education. I am a certified K-6 Elementary school teacher and a 7th-12th grade certified English teacher. My day job is high school Life Skills teacher. I'm really excited to be a part of this group. Singing is my passion!

Ooh, I love writing songs, specifically for kids. I do some other writing for kids ministry and the composition of catchy tunes with a message is a challenge I truly enjoy. And I think a few of them have been really good!! (I also wrote a special song for my daughter to sing after we lost my husband to cancer. "My Daddy's in Heaven This Christmas.") So, in doing this, I pull on all my knowledge about music!
