Buying used machines
What is everyone's thoughts on buying a used machine? Found this shapeoko 4 XXL right down the road from my house and would consider buying it if it all works. What should I look out for? Does anyone have experience with this specific machine?

Buying a used Shapeoko 4 XXL could be a great choice, especially if it’s nearby! When checking it out, look for wear on moving parts like belts and rails, check spindle and motor functions, and verify that any software or firmware is up to date. It’s also worth asking the seller about its maintenance history and any upgrades. Some community members have had good experiences with this model, but doing a test run can confirm it's in good shape. Anyone here with a Shapeoko 4 XXL who can share tips?"

@David Purbaugh Hi David! It's awesome to have you here! Your journey from working in the ER to running Catsheep Creations sounds both challenging and rewarding. The equipment you have is impressive, and it's great to hear you're considering a CNC like the Shapeoko 5 Pro! While the price tag can be daunting, brainstorming creative ideas for products you can make and sell is a smart approach to justify the investment. There’s a lot of potential in combining your 3D printing and laser engraving with CNC capabilities! Welcome to the community—looking forward to seeing what you create!
