Hi! I need some motivation. Are there any people out here actually making money from your music. Like, a livable wage? I'm a vocal coach and artist and almost 100% of my income comes from teaching voice lessons. My YouTube channel recently became monetized which is nice but the videos that are contributing to $ don't have to do with my music at the moment. What are the different revenue streams you have with your music? Please share! Thanks in advance!

How do you deal with hater comments as you put yourself out there and express yourself musically? Does it get you down? Does it motivate you? I decided to write a song. Hey guys! I hope it's ok that I share this here. In addition to being an aspiring artist I'm also a vocal coach and I really want to work with artists who are passionate about becoming better. I've been coaching exclusively online since 2020 and right now my client base is mostly beginners or people who have great voices but don't want a professional career. I would love to give a free voice lesson to 10 people who are serious about getting better and have vocal challenges they need help with overcoming. A lot of time people like us have natural talent but maybe not actual technique so we experience vocal strain, fatigue, or not singing in tune. I have a degree in vocal performance and have invested thousands of dollars into becoming a knowledgeable vocal coach so I can definitely help you with technique and would love to help you find the balance between using technique and still showing up as your authentic self. I saw a YouTube video yesterday about a woman going viral because she wrote a break up song about her boyfriend who had her move across the country and and showed videos of the guy and their relationship during the process. She covered his face. In the video the commentator said that she didn't think it was appropriate to do that and people have become too comfortable sharing vulnerability like this on the internet. And I was just in the middle of editing my video titled "I recorded a song after crying my eyes out". I had taken a picture of my eyes when I woke up the next day because they were so puffy. I had planned to use it in the video to show that I really cried my eyes out! It's honestly not a flattering picture at all but this was goin to be my attempt at being authentic on social media to hopefully have a deeper connection with viewers. Anyway, despite my hesitation I decided to include that in the video and no one seems to care. Someone actually said that the video inspired them to write so that made me feel really good! Anyway, I'd love to know your thoughts on vulnerability it music and on social media.
