Destination Thailand Visa or Digital Nomad Visa as it's being called?
I'm curious to know has anyone here successfully applied for this visa?

@Geir Bernhardsen My DTV was just approved by the London Embassy, with no police check required.

@Felipe Souza Thanks. They ask for the inbound flight number and the address of the accommodation (e.g. hotel name) but no proof of either is required. My application was online (no embassy visit) and it took about 20 minutes. Once the application is submitted, you can track its progress online you receive an email when it is complete. 100% painless.
What's stopping you from starting an online business?
Is it lack of ideas, fear of failure, technical challenges, or something else?

@Kangai Mwiti I totally empathise with your comments, as I apparently have a similar personality. Despite being able to force ourselves to step into the limelight, it's not what motivates us and therefore never becomes comfortable. Unfortunately, the reality of entrepreneurship is that presentation and selling is 95% of the game, so it's really hard to carve out a successful venture while remaining in the shadows.

@Kangai Mwiti As you said, it's possible, with some practice, to get really good at something you're not naturally suited to. But I don't think we introverts will ever "train ourselves" to be extroverts. So, if we want to enjoy our work (which I assume is a priority for anyone on the digital nomad path) I guess we need to find ways of reconciling the demands of the business with our personality style. This is exactly what you suggested in your original post, and I think it's an entirely valid approach, but just quite difficult to achieve. Personally, I am working on creating a product, which will be its own brand, but I accept that I could probably achieve better results, faster, if I was more prepared to be its visible spokesman/promoter.
Thailand to Introduce New 5 Year Digital Nomad Visa?
Apparently Thailand has introduced a new visa that lets digital nomads work here for up to five years. It looks like you'll just have to leave the country every 180 days but may be able to stay here for 360 days per year. If true then this reminds me of the good old days where you could get two 90-day single-entry visas at the same time and use them back to back. https://www.msn.com/en-us/travel/news/digital-nomads-can-now-work-in-thailand-for-up-to-five-years/ar-BB1nyPKc

The new "Destination Thailand" visa definitely sounds exciting, but my understanding is that it is not quite as useful as you might be hoping. From the information published so far (which is very sparse), it seems that the 5-year validity period is a red herring, as you can only renew the 180-day stay period once. In other words, you can stay in Thailand for a total of 360 days in the next 5 years (at a total cost of 20,000 Baht). Assuming this interpretation is correct, the visa only offers a short-term solution, before having to revert to one of the other visa types (if that's even possible).
Save Money with Geo Pricing
Just wanted to share a quick tip with you all. Did you know that living in countries like Thailand or outside the UK and US can actually save you some serious cash on online services? It's called geo pricing... Basically, a bunch of services like Spotify, Google Workspace, and even Steam have different prices depending on where you're located. So, if you're living in Thailand, for example, you might be paying way less than someone in the UK for the same thing! If you know of any other services that offer geo pricing, drop a comment below and let everyone know!

Netflix in Turkey is about 20% of the price in Europe, so maybe similar pricing applies in Thailand.
HELP! How to finish an important task that you spend a lot of time on?
You know how there is something really important and you keep putting it off? Like finishing something you know you have to? For example, I've known for some time that there are video shoots and editing that I have to finish for something really important to me, and it's always somehow unfinished... and I always feel like I'm not focusing on it enough.... Do you know the feeling? If so, feel free to share your challenges and solutions... and we will help each other

I share your pain. I'm also working on a video tutorial series that is about 50% complete and I am struggling to force myself to get it finished. I realize that making video is not really my strongest skill, so I tend to focus on other important tasks that I enjoy more, even though I know they are not as critical to my end goals. One of the techniques that I sometimes find helpful is making myself accountable to others (even if they don't really care about the outcome). For example, my mastermind group has a meeting scheduled for 9th June (yikes, just 6 days away!), and I have told them that my tutorial series will be published by that date. So, if I don't force myself to do some serious hard work, this week, I'll have the pleasure of announcing to my peers that I failed in my goal. As I said, they are not personally invested in the outcome, but knowing that they will enquire and I will have to admit failure is something of a motivator for me.
