Introduce Yourself! :)
Hello, welcome to the community! We have some new members, I would just like to do an introduction post. My name is Yip and I love learning and growing. I have found that my life's goal is in growth and teaching others skills. I have been through issues with depression and anxiety, and have grown out of these issues with room for even more improvement, and I would like to share my progress with the world. I love skateboarding, going to the gym, creating content, and making art. I also enjoy reading and learning about social media and I'm on track for a Bachelor's degree in marketing. I want to know more about my community, What brings you here, what are you interested in learning about, and what are the areas in life that you want to continue growing in? Also, how can I help my people in their search for their ideal self? Thanks for reading, talk to you soon! πŸ˜„

If you love what you do, you will succeed
If you truly care about what you are interested in learning, growth comes naturally. Your consistency will allow you to grow as long as you keep on learning actively. Often, we are clouded by fear and doubt and excitement. We think that the best way to grow is to put in 200%, and then we will be successful. This is a common misconception. Real growth comes from doing the activity with as minimal effort as possible. This allows us to stay consistent with growth and avoid burnout. When we reach burnout before truly building a habit, it is easy to just completely quit the activity as a whole. When we build a habit first of consistently working on our craft, it allows us to eventually get to a point where what felt like 200% in the beginning now only feels like 50% effort, because your mind and body are in alignment with the activity. Things only get easier over time, and the hardest part of learning anything is the first 10%. It is hard to learn something without loving it. If it was not meant for you, you will never find real joy in doing the activity, even if you see external success. I want to know what is the thing that you love most in your life, and what would be a way to incorporate it daily with as minimal effort as possible to ensure you avoid burnout. Thank you for reading, I will talk to you soon!

@H. G. I'll definitely have to check out Sammy Ingram, I've never heard of that channel before. If you face boredom and burnout, I have noticed in my life that it is because I am too focused on the intensity of the activity rather than prioritizing the consistency. It is much easier to build yourself up by doing the smallest possible task related to your goals every day, rather than setting big big goals that are appealing, but less realistic. I absolutely agree with your idea that the subconscious is blind, so it is important to feed it positive and meaningful ideas from when you are acting in the conscious mind. When the time is right, something will speak to you and you won't know if it's right immediately. Only after putting the work in out of love will you find out if it's meant for you or not! Thanks for your comment, talk to you again soon! :)
An introduction and question
I spent time thinking about, in essense, what I could dedicate my life to in learning and also have a career from. I decided I will take the route of electrical engineering. I don't have background in it but it is what I feel like I want to do. It is a new dream. One I just didn't know about or that was a possibility. It will definitely keep me busy this year as I dedicate time to really learn Mathematics, Physics, I.T. and Electronics. This is basically me aiming at the biggest thing I could imagine enjoying. I suppose I want to follow the quote: "When it feels scary to jump, that is exactly when you jump, otherwise you end up staying in the same place your whole life, and that I can't do". It resonates with me because I feel a bit stuck sometimes and life isn't so easy when it comes to finding your thing to be successful at. Apparently that quote is from a movie I haven't even seen called "A most violent year"... I should probably watch that movie before I base my life off something but to be honest I feel this year is probably going to be "A most violent year". I will have to learn more in a year than ever before. So it is a bit scary but motivating too. I really liked the videos by Learn Quick. I watched two before joining: "Stop thinking" and "DON'T RUSH, you're learning". They really resonated with me. I have also suffered a lot with analysis paralysis in a way. Or atleast paralysis in feeling I couldn't get myself to always do somethings even if I wanted to. I feel I am getting over it. I'm really motivated to change my habits and routine and to be a better life long learner. I recognise that it is amazing to connect with other like-minded individuals along the way too, so I hope I can. I feel I will need it as I go through this new journey. I hope this channel and group will grow because I like the messages shared! Thanks! Reach out to me if you want to connect and give each other support/encoragement. It could be cool. I look forward to getting to know you all! Thank you for reading.

Hey mark, I think it's fantastic that you are serious about your growth and taking on so many things at the same time. Picking the things in your life to dedicate yourself to is incredibly important. I have another video called, "You CAN'T do everything" that goes over analysis paralysis and how to be more decisive about the things that you want to tackle, check that out if you are interested in the topic. I feel that whatever you want to do, you already know how to get to the end point. It's just hard work, practice, and applied learning. You try your absolute best and fail, and then learn from that experience and incorporate it into your next attempt, and do this consistently. That is what will allow you to grow quickest. I also want to mention that the most important part of it is the consistency part of it. I learned from going to the gym that 200% effort for 5 days is not nearly as good as 50% effort for a month. A lot of the time we think that intensity can outpace consistency, and this is absolutely not true. My best advice would be to trust your gut and instincts, and when you get the urge to do something, you act on it immediately before the feeling can go away. Set your daily, weekly, and monthly goals, and make sure that they are realistic enough that they will not cause you to burn out. All progress is made in the present, so wherever you are is exactly where you are supposed to be. What do you think about these ideas? Welcome to the community, I hope to talk to you again soon! If anyone else has any ideas on how Mark could learn quicker, please share!
Consistency evens out all fluctuations in progress
I often struggled with consistency in the past, and falling behind in progress would be so detrimental to me that I would quit the thing that I am attempting to learn, do, or create. As I age and continue to learn about myself, I realize that the only path to failure is quitting. Many of our favorite artists, musicians, athletes were rejected or "failed" countless times, but it is that dedication and commitment to their craft that prevailed in the end. Every failure just became a stepping stone on the way to success that they were able to learn from. That is to say, consistency will iron out all the ups and downs of your progress. Some days may feel better than others, but as long as you repeat your desired action day after day, there is no option but to surpass the competition. You reap what you sow in its entirety, so those who practice their chosen discipline day after day will excel, even if the results are delayed. Great things take time, nothing good was ever done in haste. Patience with yourself and realizing that mistakes are all part of the success is what will allow you to win in the end. What are some tools you use to be more consistent?

@H. G. I get that, sometimes hearing other's stories can help us hold our own vision. At the end of the day though, that can only get you so far and it's also important to do the work on your own and really sit in your own head until you understand yourself. Boredom has led me to many discoveries about myself and my thought processes, which has allowed me to learn from my mistakes. What are some goals you have for yourself?
