Getting into an elite career is hard. There simply is no room for error. If you have one mistake, you are giving a reason for rejection. How do I know this? I would reject candidates all the time for this.
I saw someone's linkedin profile today who had a mispelling. I flagged this to him. He had an incredibly growth mindset however and took it well. This is the characteristic of someone who will excel and do well.
Perfection sadly is the baseline.
One typo, one formatting error, one spelling error is enough for rejection.
