🟢 "When someone owed me money."
"This is what I did to get them to pay me back.
I had a client who was known for not paying his invoices. What I did differently than other people who have threatened him to pay was simple. Instead of calling him rude names and insulting him to pay me back.
When I wanted to collect the money I told him "Hey man, I just want you to know I'm not going to ask you to pay me back every day. I know that you are an honest person and you'll never do me wrong. I know you're good for it" The next day he visited me at my office and paid 2 years' worth of invoices altogether.
The difference between what I had done to get paid vs the others was a psychological feature called labeling.
Everybody who wanted their money was labeling him these terrible things and he was acting as such. Instead, I labeled him as an admirable human with a positive label and he acted as such to fit into that positive label.
Most people, when you give them a positive label, will doing anything to maintain that label."
