BREATHWORK / NADIS - ENERGY CHANNELS
The Latin root word spir means “breathe.” Your quality of breathing is a reflection of your spirit, This post is meant to help you attain the inspiration needed to breathe more clearly & therefore enrich your physical reality.
Links & videos will be highlighted throughout the texts. Instructional guides for breathwork at the very bottom
Consciously breathing from the diaphragm, changes your entire reality. By practicing breathwork, you are actually changing your own frequency and vibrations. Everything is energy. Therefore, by changing your own energy, you are able to have higher attraction levels for higher abundance
Breathwork is more than an exercise of breathing correctly or with intent. Breathing techniques are tools for major transformation, retrospection & healing. Breathwork encompasses a broad range of whole-being therapeutic practices & exercises used to relieve mental, physical, and/or emotional tension
The first thing you would notice is that it’ll help you gain complete control of your breathing. This is because it will increase your self-awareness. In addition, it will also help you feel more calm, grounded, and confident. Breathwork creates a balance in natural chemical messengers and noradrenaline. Both substances have an effect on specific emotions and attention, thereby enhancing focus.
Yup, you’ve likely even been breathing incorrectly your whole life. But it’s all good, that’s why I’m here to help
It’s really simple it just may take some getting used to at first. The first few sessions can be very uncomfortable because it is new channels of energy processing being opened
Essential things to know
Inhale from your belly/diaphragm to really fill up on Prana. Your belly should literally be protruding outwards
There are 3 locks (also known as bhandas) to remember when you hold at the top of the breath
You will lock the tongue, pushing the tip of it against the roof of your mouth. While doing this, the eyes look up as though looking out the top of the head
Next there is the root lock or the perineum lock. You know that muscle you use to hold your pee when you’ve really got to go? That one. That’s the one we’re locking the root chakra with
Then there is the throat lock; simply drop the chin down toward the chest, without tilting the head forward or rounding the back of the neck.
Exhale completely, sucking your belly into the spine. (Stomach vaccumm)
& if this made zero sense, here’s a very helpful breakdown of the body locks. If this seems a bit too advanced for you then not to worry, again there are beginner practices at the end 👇
What Exactly is Breathwork?
As the name suggests, this is a deliberate and controlled way of breathing. It can only involve taking deep breaths regular intervals at its very basic level
Its roots can be traced back to the Pranayama concept in yoga. Breathwork is also a concept with broad application in different Eastern practices and Tai Chi. There are different types of breathing exercises, but it basically comprises a conscious change in how you breathe
Nadis- Ida, Pingala, & Sushumna
There are many energy channels or “Nadis”, as they are called in Hindu philosophy, but three of them stand out. They are Ida, Pingala, & Sushumna.
Ida, Pingala, and Sushumna are the main Nadis or energy channels through which the Divine energy flows. These 3 Nadis connect our chakras and run, vertically, from the base of the spine to the head. Ida is situated on the left, Sushumna in the center, and Pingala on the right.
If you cut someone open, you won’t find energy channels or centers. That’s because they don’t exist in the physical realm. Yet, for many years, they have been recognized by throughout cultures for over millennia.
Remember the symbol from medicine with the two coiled snakes around the winged staff? In Hermetic philosophy, this is called “Caduceus”
Caduceus
It represents the two main Nadis, Ida and Pingala, reaching their pinnacle of evolution and contributing to the vital energy
But what exactly are Ida and Pingala?
Ida – The Left Energy Channel it is located on the left side of the spine (your left). It is associated with the vibration of the moon, which represents the emotional part of a person – the Yin energy
In the Sanskrit language, Ida means “comfort”
Regardless of our gender, we all have a female and masculine side
Each one of those manifests in different situations according to our inner state of mind at a given time
Ida is the one connected to our female part. It corresponds to the left nostril to the right side of our brain. This is the more introvert part of our bodies. Ida transports the energy to the nervous system. This process calms the body, mind, and soul
Pingala – The Right Energy Channel is located on the right side of the spine. It represents the masculine, pragmatic part – Yang energy
In Sanskrit, Pingala means “channel” or “flow”
It connects to the right nostril & to the left hemisphere of our brain
Pingala brings the element of the sun which represents the intellect. It connects to the more extroverted and masculine side
Pingala controls essential life elements such as vitality and strength
The Ida and Pingala represent the basic duality in the existence. It is this duality which we traditionally personify as Shiva & Shakti
or it can be the logical and the intuitive aspect of you. It is based on this that life is created. Without these two dualities, life wouldn’t exist as it does right now. In the beginning, everything is primordial, there is no duality. But once creation happens, there is duality
Therefore Ida and Pingala, together with Sushumna, are the most important energy channels that we have.
These three Nadis keep the energy flowing, intersecting themselves at the most important junctions – the chakras
The prana (or light) energy flows from the base of the spine all the way up to the crown chakra, exiting as a fountain of light. Your resonance in breath, thoughts, & over all state of being helps maintain a strong morphogenetic field (Torus) consistently flowing
They Are Gateways
Ida and Pingala are in strong connection with the chakras. These are gateways that connect the subtle realms with the physical ones.
Through them, we are able to express inner emotions, thoughts, words, and actions. However the energy cannot flow without these two channels being properly cleansed & energized. That’s why there are quite a few breathing exercises out there.
Try this: Next time you practice breathwork, focus on the spirit:
Feel the universe filling you with a golden stream of air on your inhalation.
Experience the life force (prana) flow through you.
Allow yourself to make space for this energy within yourself.
Feel how this energy connects you with a deeper part of your Self.
As you exhale, send the energy to all the living things around you
Positive Habits (conclusion)
1. Every day, develop your self-observation from moment to moment. Also extend your mindfulness: the length of time that you are aware of yourself. At the end of each day, reflect on how you did.
2. Implement your breathwork meditations with mudras and mantras (optional)
3. Fasting (optional but recommended) Rational Fasting (feel free to message me for more information on this )
4. Cardio - dramatically improves cardiovascular/lung health
5. 15-20 minutes of breathwork first thing in the morning & before bed, along with the other steps will dramatically increase clarity both throughout the day & in the dreamworld
Make sure you’re avoiding bottled waters, packaged foods & GMOs, birth control, laundry detergents, fabric softeners, deodorants, fluoride toothpastes, etc
these things wreak havoc in your endocrine system have neurotoxins and pose serious health hazards. If this is news to you then I recommend searching for natural DIY alternatives & or other brands that are more natural as there is alternatives for everything (yes birth control also)
A DMT Experience
Before you go dismissing what I’m about to say just remember that everything you need is within you. Your body chemically reacts to whatever you ingest, so in a sense YOU are the drug. Not that actual object or substance that physically exists outside of you. And let’s not forget, your body doesn’t know the difference between ‘illegal’ and ‘legal’ drugs so yes, sugar and salt are very much drugs. Honestly, food is drugs
All that to say that Prana is all around you. What is Prana? It is the vital life force energy, also known as the breath. DMT is produced in your very own lungs. Correct, right now as you’re reading this, it’s just waiting for you to tap into it. What is DMT? If you google it, you’ll get a bunch of information saying it’s this psychedelic trippy drug similar to shrooms. Plot twist, it’s actually released every single night when you go to sleep and dream
I challenge you to google “DMT breathwork” and check out those results instead. Or go ahead and try this quick exercise and see for yourself:
* Instant High:
30-40 fast breaths through the nose (as if you were running)
Completely exhale
Fully expand belly
Hold it with whole body clenched for as long as you can
Release slowly through the nose
Happy breathing everyone!
