Hey, everyone! Amelia and I are planning to hike the Manitou Incline Sunday the 28th of April and would love to get a big group of us together! Planning to meet at the base of the steps at 8:00 am so it won't get too hot and we won't deal with weather.
For those less familiar, you have a few options when it comes to getting down once you make it to the top of the Incline (yes, you will make it):
- You stay up there indecisive what path to take...
2. You can go back down the way you came... this isn't for the faint of heart and can be trying on the knees if not done properly but it's the fastest
3. You can walk down Barr Trail and that is a bunch of gradual switchbacks. A lot easier on the knees but a little slower than going back down the incline. However, you can jog down this and it goes a little faster (personal favorite).
For those who want to do Open Mat at Wilson's afterwards at 11, this is a great warmup. Depending on time, we might be able to grab a coffee or smoothie in town when done.
To save some money (costs $10 to park at base and that fills quickly and street parking can be expensive too), those who would like to carpool, we can meet at Red Rocks Open Space at 7:30 am. Let me know if you're interested in doing this. I can fit 4 people in my car and maybe someone in the trunk lol see picture below for the parking lot I'm thinking.
I'll plan a few of these throughout the summer so if you can make it this time, don't worry.... However, this is our first so that makes it extra special and I'd love to see a huge group of us! Those who die on the incline together, grow together ❤️ 💪
Let me know if you have questions.
