Memento Mori: Remember, You Must Die
The Latin phrase memento mori translates to "remember you must die." It’s a reminder of the fleeting nature of life, urging us to live meaningfully. We often become so consumed by our careers that it’s easy to lose sight of what truly matters. I’ve struggled with this myself—I always said my family was my priority, but I had to face the reality: priorities are set by where you invest your time.
For me, it was work and sleep. Realizing this was a wake-up call. It made me re-evaluate how I spend my days, and it’s led me to be more intentional about how I allocate my time. I’m more present with my family, more balanced, and more content.
Memento mori doesn’t mean to dwell on death; it’s about honoring life. Let’s remind ourselves to live fully, prioritize the right things, and create a life we won’t look back on with regrets. Where will you put your time today?
