Experiment - Stop Therapeutic Ketosis - how long until under 2.0 again
Hi everyone. I did another breakout experiment this week, as in I broke out of therapeutic ketosis and then wanted to see how quickly I could return to under 2.0 GKI. I had a day on Wednesday 17/9 where I had some toast with breakfast and a good old Aussie chunky steak pie for lunch and wine at night plus a few other things like fruit toast - (although Prof. Seyfried says red wine won't knock you out of ketosis). Did not check GKI on 18/9. So yesterday 19/9 I checked GKI twice (now being back on my usual diet). 12pm midday my GKI was 6.0, and at 5.30pm it was 3.25. I took it again at 8am today the 20/9 and it was 1.77. So, for anyone wondering how long it takes to return to Therapeutic levels, it's 2 days after you stop the carbs or whatever. It has been a total revelation that 3-4 tablespoons of Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil every time I eat pushes me below 2.0 very quickly. I had been struggling with getting under 2.0. Thanks to group member who switched me on to that.
