Experiment - Stop Therapeutic Ketosis - how long until under 2.0 again
Hi everyone. I did another breakout experiment this week, as in I broke out of therapeutic ketosis and then wanted to see how quickly I could return to under 2.0 GKI. I had a day on Wednesday 17/9 where I had some toast with breakfast and a good old Aussie chunky steak pie for lunch and wine at night plus a few other things like fruit toast - (although Prof. Seyfried says red wine won't knock you out of ketosis). Did not check GKI on 18/9. So yesterday 19/9 I checked GKI twice (now being back on my usual diet). 12pm midday my GKI was 6.0, and at 5.30pm it was 3.25. I took it again at 8am today the 20/9 and it was 1.77. So, for anyone wondering how long it takes to return to Therapeutic levels, it's 2 days after you stop the carbs or whatever. It has been a total revelation that 3-4 tablespoons of Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil every time I eat pushes me below 2.0 very quickly. I had been struggling with getting under 2.0. Thanks to group member who switched me on to that.

Super Sunday Story-Time!
Hi guys, this time for something different, something more personal: Tell us your most entertaining / disturbing / enlightening / dis-encouraging conversation story that you encountered, while talking to your MD or oncologist about Dr. Seyfrieds metabolic approach: What was their opinion towards all of this? :--)

I asked due to a response to a question ( which are generally all good) " do you think this approach is oversimplified"- he answered YES.

@Johnny Rockermeier I asked him that question in response to a few things Ihe said and he sounded a little not sceptical, but not all in if you know what I mean. I think it is simply explained and a much better approach than standard of care here in Australia where they wanted to resection my rectum and anus and do 6 months of chemo and rad. F*** THAT.!!!!!
Getting GKI below 2.0
@Rioghnach O'Leary mentioned a while ago to me that simply consuming 4 tablespoons of olive oil every time you eat helps get you into deeper ketosis, and below the desired GKI of 2.0. I have experimented twice now with having a blow out day or 2 and having a coffee, some wine etc. As soon as I apply the increased olive oil consumption I revert within 48 hours to below 2.0. Tonight's GKI in pics after 2 days away from home at sisters. I mean really the worst I did was sweetened yoghurt when normally I have unsweetened Greek, and a liqueur whisky but that was enough without ice baths and Metformin/ Berberine to knock me out of the zone. Tonight back in. I have stopped using MCT oil and now chugging CERT ORGANIC EVO.

Glutamine Inhibitor Supplement.
I found this in my friend Abbey Mitchell's Cancer Study and Support Group here in OZ. An MCS Formulas Glutamine Inhibitor supplement. It has some good research behind it. So the text of the post is reposted here. MCS Formulas created this inhibitor formula: https://www.mcsformulas.com/vitamins-supplements/glutamine-inhibifour/ref/14 MCS intensively researched the scientific literature and concluded that the following four compounds, typically naturally occurring in various plants and available as food supplements, stand out for their connection to the GLUTAMINOLYISIS pathway activity: URSOLIC ACID – typically found in Rosmarinus Officinalis Leaves, connected to the levels of Glutamine Transporter (ASCT2) (1) 50 mg CAFFEIC ACID – typically found in various foods and Propolis, connected to the levels of Glutaminase (GLS) (2) – note: Caffeic Acid is not related to Caffeine 50 mg HESPERIDIN – typically found in the Bitter Orange, connected to the levels of aminotransferase and aspartate aminotransferase (3) 50 mg EGCG – typically found in Green Tea, connected to the levels of Glutamate dehydrogenase (GDH) (4) Due to their outstanding properties, the above compounds have been intensively investigated and addressed in the scientific literature. *The statements in this section have not been evaluated by the FDA or EFSA.
