I’m currently reading a book called “The Art of Impossible” written by Steven Kotler.
He shares this 15%-20% rule that has been implemented in billion dollar companies…
It all started with 3M.
They mandated all of their employees to work on projects/ideas that were important to them 15% of their week. Meaning about 1 afternoon per week…
The big pay off?
Post It Notes.
A billion dollar revenue generating idea that came from the 15% rule..
Of course this makes waves, and Google decided to make the same bet on their employees.. But a 20% rule.
Their payoff?
Google Adsense + Gmail to name a few…
My take on this: devoting 15%-20% of your time every week on being creative, working through ideas, will have an immense return on investment.
This is about 1 afternoon, or 2-3 hours twice a week.
What do you think you could do with this?
