In a world that is constantly changing and full of distractions, it's important for us as believers to keep our eyes fixed on God. Hebrews 12:2 tells us, "Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God." This verse reminds us that Jesus is not only the foundation of our faith but also its perfecter. He endured the ultimate sacrifice for our salvation, and thus, He is the perfect example of steadfastness and perseverance.
In the midst of life's trials and tribulations, it's easy to become overwhelmed and lose focus. However, when we keep our gaze firmly on the Lord, we are reminded of His sovereignty and goodness. Isaiah 26:3 says, "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee." This perfect peace comes from trusting in God and maintaining a focus on Him, rather than our circumstances.
To keep our eyes fixed on God, we must also spend time in His Word and in prayer. Psalm 119:105 declares, "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path." God's Word illuminates our way, guiding us through the darkness of this world. Prayer connects us to the Father, allowing us to cast our cares upon Him and receive His guidance and comfort.
As we go about our days, let us remember to fix our eyes on God, who is unchanging and faithful. In doing so, we can navigate life with peace and confidence, knowing that we are following the One who holds the future in His hands.
