Wisdom is one of the most precious gifts that we can seek from God. It is through wisdom that we can navigate the complexities of life, make sound decisions, and grow closer to Him. The Bible is rich with teachings on the importance and power of wisdom. Proverbs 4:7 “Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.” This verse emphasizes that wisdom is of utmost importance. It is not just an optional trait but a principal thing that we should actively seek. Along with wisdom, understanding is also crucial as it helps us apply the wisdom we gain in our daily lives. James 1:5 “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.” God is generous and willing to give wisdom to those who ask. When we feel uncertain or lack clarity, we can turn to God in prayer, confident that He will provide us with the wisdom we need. Proverbs 2:6 "For the Lord giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.” This verse reassures us that true wisdom comes from the Lord. It is through His word and guidance that we receive knowledge and understanding. By immersing ourselves in Scripture and seeking His counsel, we can gain the wisdom that leads to a fulfilling and righteous life. Ecclesiastes 7:12 "For wisdom is a defence, and money is a defence: but the excellency of knowledge is, that wisdom giveth life to them that have it.” Wisdom is compared to a defense, much like money. However, the true value of wisdom lies in its ability to give life. It protects us from making poor choices and guides us toward a life that is pleasing to God. “Proverbs 3:13-18 Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding. For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold. She is more precious than rubies: and all the things thou can”

Lets start the week off strong and dive into what the Bible has to say about hard work. Hard work is a principle that resonates throughout the Bible, emphasizing diligence, perseverance, and the fruits of labor. The Bible commends the virtue of diligence and the importance of giving our best in all we do. Proverbs 13:4 says, "The soul of the sluggard desireth, and hath nothing: but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat." This verse teaches us that while the lazy person may have desires, they will not be fulfilled without effort. In contrast, the diligent person will be rewarded. Colossians 3:23-24 instructs, "And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ." Our work should not be done just for human approval or recognition, but as if we are serving Christ Himself. This perspective elevates our daily tasks to acts of worship and service to God. Finally, the benefits of hard work are not just for the individual but also for the community. Ecclesiastes 9:10 encourages us, "Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest." We are urged to work with all our might because our time on earth is limited, and we have the opportunity to make an impact now. As we reflect on these scriptures, let us commit to working hard, not just for our own benefit but as a testament to our faith and a service to others. May our labor honor God and serve as a light to those around us.

In a world where social comparisons are a mere swipe away, it's important to remember the biblical teachings on individual worth and the dangers of comparison. Here's a devotional based on the King James Version of the Bible that may offer some guidance. The Scriptures remind us that we are fearfully and wonderfully made, according to Psalm 139:14, "I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well." This verse celebrates the unique creation that each one of us is, crafted by the hands of God Himself. When we compare ourselves to others, we question God's craftsmanship and the unique gifts and talents He has bestowed upon us. In the Epistle to the Galatians, Paul warns us about the folly of comparison: "For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself. But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another. For every man shall bear his own burden." (Galatians 6:3-5). These verses teach us that our focus should be on our personal calling and responsibilities, not on how we measure up to others. Paul speaks of contentment in Philippians 4:11-12, saying, "Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content." Contentment does not come from being better or having more than others; it comes from finding peace in God's provision for our lives, regardless of how it compares to others. As we reflect on these verses, let us strive to view ourselves through the lens of God's word, not through the lens of worldly comparison. Let us celebrate our individuality and the unique path God has set for each of us. By doing so, we honor the Creator and live out the full potential of the life He has given us.

Bit of a late post because I woke up late today😅, nonetheless enjoy today’s devotional! Friendship is a cherished bond that not only enriches our lives but also reflects the love and community that God desires for us. The Bible offers profound wisdom on the qualities of true friendship. One of my goals for this community is to help people find God and grow closer to him, and having a community of like minded individuals is a great way to do so! Proverbs 17:17 states, "A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity." This verse highlights the steadfast nature of true friendship. A good friend shows unconditional love and is present through both the highs and lows of life. Their companionship is a constant, much like a sibling's, especially in times of challenge. In Proverbs 27:17, we find, "Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend." Good friends challenge and encourage us to grow. They are not afraid to speak truth that leads to self-improvement, and through mutual support, both friends are strengthened and refined. Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 offers further insight: "Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up." These verses remind us that friends are invaluable companions in life's journey. They help us in our endeavors and are there to support us when we stumble, emphasizing the importance of companionship and mutual aid. In the spirit of these Scriptures, let us seek to be good friends who love unconditionally, sharpen each other's character, and offer unwavering support. By embodying these biblical principles, we not only bless others but also honor God through our friendships.

In a world that is constantly changing and full of distractions, it's important for us as believers to keep our eyes fixed on God. Hebrews 12:2 tells us, "Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God." This verse reminds us that Jesus is not only the foundation of our faith but also its perfecter. He endured the ultimate sacrifice for our salvation, and thus, He is the perfect example of steadfastness and perseverance. In the midst of life's trials and tribulations, it's easy to become overwhelmed and lose focus. However, when we keep our gaze firmly on the Lord, we are reminded of His sovereignty and goodness. Isaiah 26:3 says, "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee." This perfect peace comes from trusting in God and maintaining a focus on Him, rather than our circumstances. To keep our eyes fixed on God, we must also spend time in His Word and in prayer. Psalm 119:105 declares, "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path." God's Word illuminates our way, guiding us through the darkness of this world. Prayer connects us to the Father, allowing us to cast our cares upon Him and receive His guidance and comfort. As we go about our days, let us remember to fix our eyes on God, who is unchanging and faithful. In doing so, we can navigate life with peace and confidence, knowing that we are following the One who holds the future in His hands.
