Wisdom is one of the most precious gifts that we can seek from God. It is through wisdom that we can navigate the complexities of life, make sound decisions, and grow closer to Him. The Bible is rich with teachings on the importance and power of wisdom.

Proverbs 4:7

“Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.”

This verse emphasizes that wisdom is of utmost importance. It is not just an optional trait but a principal thing that we should actively seek. Along with wisdom, understanding is also crucial as it helps us apply the wisdom we gain in our daily lives.

James 1:5

“If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.”

God is generous and willing to give wisdom to those who ask. When we feel uncertain or lack clarity, we can turn to God in prayer, confident that He will provide us with the wisdom we need.

Proverbs 2:6

"For the Lord giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.”

This verse reassures us that true wisdom comes from the Lord. It is through His word and guidance that we receive knowledge and understanding. By immersing ourselves in Scripture and seeking His counsel, we can gain the wisdom that leads to a fulfilling and righteous life.

Ecclesiastes 7:12

"For wisdom is a defence, and money is a defence: but the excellency of knowledge is, that wisdom giveth life to them that have it.”

Wisdom is compared to a defense, much like money. However, the true value of wisdom lies in its ability to give life. It protects us from making poor choices and guides us toward a life that is pleasing to God.

“Proverbs 3:13-18

Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding. For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold. She is more precious than rubies: and all the things thou can”
