Keep working for the Man or start “You Inc.”
Your own personal enterprise, the new way to approach making a living.
It isn’t about a job, but how to think like an entrepreneur.
Will you be comfortable to work when you need to?
When you want to? Where you want to?
Experts like Hemant Taneja, in his book Unscaled predicts:
~ just-in-time gigs
~contract work
~projects and
~side hustles
Are the way to create You Inc.
Taneja expects the burden of Human Resources paperwork will help make You Inc. very attractive to the corporate bean counters.
Don’t try to fit your skills into a resume you send out everywhere.
Focus on what problems you have solved in your own job.
You aren’t the only one that has to deal with it.
Focus on how to show up in front of someone in need of your solution or work around.
Here comes a big change.
New skills will be needed.
First learn where your ideal prospect hangs out.
Second learn their jargon.
Third figure out the answer to, if only I could fix “X”
Fourth Zoom in on that ideal client.
Only that ideal client.
Wait! I hear you.
You’re just starting out and you will work for anyone that will pay you.
Realize you sound like every other gig seeker on the net.
Do you want that?
You want your ideal client pulled to you like a Magnetic pulls iron fillings.
After years with a steady job, you might feel lost.
But it’s a chance to shake up the old routine.
Create a setup that pays the bills.
Gives you time for things like exercise, meditation, and a hobby or two.
