What is this?
When I first started to get serious about coffee I knew essentially nothing. I created a coffee reviewing instagram that completely ripped off Dave Portnoy's Pizza reviews and gained a small following. Long story short, this lead to the eventual buyout of Maiden Coffee Roasters while somehow convincing a Regional Business Assistance Corporation to loan me the money in order to do so.
Now, about two years in, I've seen the lack of education within the industry, high cost to entry, and unfortunate gatekeeping that comes with it. The goal with this community is to provide hard to access information for anyone within, or looking to get into, the coffee industry.
