Maybe it's just because I never had a proper Piano Teacher.
Much of my exploration into music has been just that.
Exploration.
Sure, I've watched videos and read books and whatnot. But a large portion of my experience with piano has been just by taking little concepts and figuring out how to fit them and stack them together.
But then I go back and I'm surprised. I watch other piano courses and I'm going, "Why are they teaching it like that?" Seems like about the hardest way to learn it. 😅
Like learning the 12 major scales, for example.
Commonly, what you're taught is to memorize by route the progression of flats or sharps to add.
But by exploration, my approach is much simpler.
Very tactile.
To play any of the 12 major scales all I ever do - is move one finger.
