Sometimes I'm surprised talking to pianists.
Maybe it's just because I never had a proper Piano Teacher. Much of my exploration into music has been just that. Exploration. Sure, I've watched videos and read books and whatnot. But a large portion of my experience with piano has been just by taking little concepts and figuring out how to fit them and stack them together. But then I go back and I'm surprised. I watch other piano courses and I'm going, "Why are they teaching it like that?" Seems like about the hardest way to learn it. 😅 Like learning the 12 major scales, for example. Commonly, what you're taught is to memorize by route the progression of flats or sharps to add. But by exploration, my approach is much simpler. Very tactile. To play any of the 12 major scales all I ever do - is move one finger. Seriously, just one finger. Take a look:

The first position of any scales just like that. You have a major block. You're bridging in between it with a middle note. Stacked on top of that, you have a minor block. Because you're starting in the home key of the scale, with the major block as the foundation, the connecting bridge of the minor block is the one that's closest to the gravitational orbit, so to speak, of the major block. In other words, ring-finger to the left. The second position of the scale. Same story with the major block. And the minor block being nearly an octave up is now right back to that founding major block pillar, the home base. So to bridge that minor block you use the second note. In other words, ring-finger to the right.

This works for any major scale. It's not about the color of the notes. It's about the relationships between them.
Introducing Clutter to Clarity.
Not sure if that's actually what the group will be called long-term, but that's why I have it titled for now. If you all would like to take a look at my new group, here's the link: https://www.skool.com/clutter-free-creatives-7313

@Ted Mauro Thanks Ted! Access Granted! :D
New community name.
So I have an idea and that is to make this group an "electives academy". Essentially, it will be the home for all of my hobbies and interests that I am learning and would love to teach. This will include things like micro home studying, homework, culture, programming. (Okay, technically that's my occupation too, but it would be fun to teach as a hobby.) Anything that I am currently learning, I would love to add a course for you since the best way to learn something is to teach it, as they say. What do you all think?

I love piano. Always have. Probably always will. I love teaching it. One day, I hope that people realize that music through piano is a language to be spoken by everyone, not just those who are especially gifted, like was commonly believed in the old days about reading and writing. That said, I'm planning to change my focus. I'm creating a community called "Clutter Free Creatives" (or something along those lines) to help freelance creative professionals in their early career stages organize their time and space for optimal effectiveness. Piano will still be part of what I do, but I'll be dedicating more time to this new project. I believe the skills we develop through music - discipline, focus, and consistent practice - can be valuable in other creative fields as well. I'll continue to offer piano lessons, though on a more limited basis. Okay, okay! Enough poetry and inspirational jibber-jabber. 😂 The reason for this pivot is pain. Specifically, pain that I've gone through, learned from, and believe I can help others resolve. It lines up well with things I'm passionate about. Things I've experienced it in. Things I've done professionally. And things that have the potential to make a big difference In the lives of my clients. Is this the right choice? I'm not sure, but it's my best guess. And if I keep waffling back and forth between all my different ideas, I'm not going to make it very far in any of them.

So far, so good! I'm learning to play the accordion, and I'm working on shifting my whole schedule earlier. I definitely function better as an morning person. Even though it doesn't come very naturally to me. 😂
