Email Marketing/Copywriting HELP!!!

Anyone on here experienced with email marketing?

I've been working in web design for a couple of years but sick of constantly having to find new clients and show the value of a website. So I'm looking to move into email marketing but have some questions.

I wanted to work with Restaurants but wasn't sure how i could track the results? As with a physical products I would obviously have access to how many were sold etc. But with relying on visitors actually visiting the physical location how would this work?

Anyone with any knowledge on this would help greatly.
