I am fine @everyone. I hope you are, too.
And would love to share my thoughts with you this stormy Thursday here in Manila.
I saw the whole of the Philippines flooded on my Facebook feed.
My partner posted, "Grabe na talaga. Lulubog na ang Pinas."
Translation: "OMG! The whole country is drowning."
My friends are marking themselves safe while others are asking for prayers for their flooded cities.
Last time there was a typhoon in the Philippines, I was planning to migrate.
This time, I'm calm and I don't intend to leave anytime soon.
I feel I'm doing what I can to help by launching One Daily with and our team of mentors. "Huh, what's the connection of a mental health & wellness platform to resolving the flooding problem?”, you might ask.
You see, the macro problem is affected by the micro problem- and that is MANY OF US DON'T CARE.
We DON'T CARE if our politicians are corrupt.
We DON'T CARE that our plastic use contributes to the garbage problem that blocks drainage.
We DON'T CARE if the capitalists exploit our natural resources.
What if we start CARING?
About the people we elect in power.
About our personal carbon footprint that affects global warming.
About the environment and the trees that's supposed to protect us at this time.
THINGS WILL CHANGE.
It will definitely not happen overnight but it will.
If we can reach more and more people who are willing to take care of their mental health and wellness.
This same people may just be the next politician who can inititate change.
The next Greta Thunberg who will rally for global warming.
Or the next person who will plant a tree that can break the storm's strong wind.
There is HOPE.
For me, each one of us have to start taking care of ourselves first.
Then, it's easier to take care of each other.
Then, nature.
Then the whole planet.
Any change we wish to see in the world, starts within.
Let me know if you agree.
Or not (it's okay). 😉
P.P.S. Wifi signal's bad here in Manila right now. Sorry, we'll be cancelling the Mastering Communication class today.
Please know that we'll have Daily Download at 8:45pm as it's bright and sunny in Florida where Daniel is at the moment.
