(UK based) Google Sheets STR and average sale price calculator
(I hope it's OK to post this here).
Inspired by the STR spreadsheets on here by I wanted to try create something that automatically pulls values off eBay's website. My vision is something that could be used for quick field research. Something that's hopefully more convenient than doing the searches manually, or using ebay features like Terrapeak.
Unfortunately, as I am UK based, it is based on the UK site. I'm hoping there's some UK-based people who can give it a try out and let me know their thoughts. - With effort updating the category lists and URLs, I assume it could be made to work for the US.
Here is my v1.1 alpha. I have not thoroughly tested it, so there may be some circumstances under which it does not work correctly, and may give wildly inaccurate values, or no values at all - use with caution. I hope all that's needed to test it out is to "make a copy".
As the sheet accesses the internet to pull values from eBay's website, there will be a prompt for this. Also the reset button needs a script to work, which clears the value of cells. Before authorising it, I strongly recommend reviewing the code to satisfy yourself that's all it does, by going to "extensions" -> "apps script". If you're concerned about authorising the script, the sheet can be used without it, just clearing the categories can be tedious.
If you're into playing around with Google sheets, the inner workings can be uncovered by showing "hidden sheets" under "view".
