With all the new changes in our industry it will be helpful for all of us to collaborate with the goal of helping each other so that as an industry we present the value and necessity for our services. More than ever, we need solidarity to combat the money grab that has happened to our livelihood. We are being undermined by Big Tech and Lawyers who want to eliminate us. Real Estate makes up 20% of our economy and we need to evaluate NAR and what we can do to protect ourselves. I feel that we are giving away our most valuable asset which is the Multiple Listing Service(MLS) that we are own in our local areas. The banks and investment community need our data WE input into our MLS's across this nation. Appraisals are based on our data... SOLD prices and the accuracy of the data we input are all used by the Financial institutions. Our local MLS's need to be the Gatekeepers of this data and not allow it to be syndicated through Zillow, Realtor.com, and all the other big tech companies who sell our information back to us for "leads". I just found out that Follow Up Boss, a popular CRM, is owned by Zillow. These companies are aggregating the data and using it to little by little push us out! If we work together, we can maintain and keep our industry from being torn out of our control. As we all should know, we are here to serve our customers and not make it more complicated than what the recent events have made it.
