“No, I'll start in 5 minutes”
5 minutes later - “I'm telling you after 5 minutes I'll start, I need a break from all this”
Do you struggle with similar thoughts like above?
Don't worry it's completely normal to feel this way if you're overwhelmed and stressed with your workload.
But there's a way out of this.
And that's what I'm going to share with you in this post…,
If you read to the end!
To start off you need to tackle the main problem which is stress or overwhelmment.
Your brain when stressed, goes into a flight or fight mode which makes it prioritize immediate relief over long term goals.
It perceives the task as a threat and that's why it may feel daunting to us and so we avoid it and put it off.
So how do you overcome stress and overwhelmment so you can actually start your work?
Here are 5 tips I've got for you today:
Pause and breathe: Take a few deep breaths to calm your mind. This helps to reduce the immediate stress response.
Break It down: Divide the task into the smallest possible steps. Starting with something simple reduces your overwhelm.
Set a timer: Use the "5-minute rule" – just work on the task for five minutes.
Prioritize: Focus on one task at a time. Write down 1–3 priorities for the day to keep it manageable.
Eliminate distractions: Create a focused environment by turning off notifications and clearing your workspace.
Sometimes, it’s not just about strategies but having someone who understands what you’re going through.
If this resonated with you, know that you don’t have to navigate it alone.
