I just found a chapter of a book that I wrote a few months ago.
I think it was 6 months ago.
I just want to give you the first chapter here, if people like it I can always upload it in our classroom.
Enjoy the read:
Chapter 1 - 3 Stages
What is rich?
Everyone has a different definition.
For some people in poor countries it might be just putting food on the table.
For other people it is having $10M in cash on your bank account. There is no vast definition. Therefore it is highly personal to you. So what do you think is rich?
Think about it..
- Being a millionaire. - Having $5,000/mo in passive income. - Owning a house.
Now answer the following question: WHY do you think that is rich? This is a very tough question. Most people can not answer it.
They don’t know why they think that.
Because you are PROGRAMMED to think a certain way = rich. Hollywood, society, social media... They all brainwashed you.
Awareness Stage
You don’t know yet that people like you can become wealthy.
You have never seen it. You didn’t witness it around you.
You thought it was impossible.
It is all a scam.
That is how I saw it as well.
You have to go to school in order to become successful. All other people that didn’t go to school... are scammers.
That was literally my belief. That did not got me very far in life. So it is a stage of being UNAWARE.
You need to first realise that it is possible for you to get rich and live a completely different life.
If you would have asked me at the age of 20 if I would become a millionaire.
I would say YES, 100%, NO DOUBT! And it happened. It was because I already was AWARE that all things are possible. So if you are currently in the unaware stage then you’re probably:
- Struggling to finish the end of the month. - You don’t have a surplus of money after all your monthly expenses. - You have to take money from your savings account often. - You can not spend much money on leisure or entertainment. - You have to cancel certain activities because of your budget.
You can be born in this category. But staying in this category is a choice.
I’ve been in this environment.
The #1 thing that is lacking is: “Mindset”
They justify their situation by pointing fingers at society, government or rich people.
It is the fault of EVERYBODY except themselves. If you keep justifying to yourself why you are poor, you will stay poor. There is no other way to say it. If you numb yourself with social media, Netflix..
You are going to stay here. It a comfortable zone where EVERYONE is. You really need to HATE the situation. If you don’t feel the pain, you will not move. I did not want to go to school. I saw that it was worthless if you want to make money. I didn’t care about a degree or a good job. I just wanted to make money and provide. The day I came back from school. I sat in the train. Everyone around me was miserable. I saw 40 year olds being negative an depressed. It scared me. I am going to end up here if I do not take action. I do not want to slave away my whole life. Live in scarcity. Hate my job, boss, and work.
I do not want that!
So I fought against it.
Tony Robbins says that we do everything out of pleasure or pain.
Pain is a great motivator on the short term.
Feel the pain of your situation.
Feel the pain that you are LACKING.
Feel the pain that you will stay at the exact same spot.
Feel the pain that other people just like you can travel around the world and live a better life.
If you feel the pain, it will stir up a fire.
That fire is exactly what you will need in order to escape the rat race.
Escape Stage
It is time to escape the matrix.
Everyone in the matrix is plugged in a system. They don’t even know they are plugged in.
You know you are plugged in when you are unaware. You don’t know what you need to do in order to become rich. You believe the things your parents, society and school tells you. After a while you see that things don’t make sense.
It just doesn’t work.
You use that pain as fuel.
And now you are going to escape.
Most people think they NEED to make $1,000,000 in order to live their dream life.
This is not true.
I only needed $950,000.
Just kidding..
What I mean here is that you probably overestimate the amount you need.
And if you think “how am I going to make a million dollars” you will probably get overwhelmed.
Instead of focusing on 1mil, why not focus on 100K? Instead of 100K, why not first start with your first $1000. So I have this number for you that you need to calculate. It is called the freedom number. What do you TRULY want and how much would that cost every month? For me it was simple. I went to Thailand when I was 18 years old. I was backpacking with my best friend.
I told him, I want to live like this for the rest of my life. Freedom! So my freedom number was easy:
Muay Thai lessons: $100/mo Food: $400/mo Rent: $500/mo Scooter: $50/mo Subscriptions: $150/mo
...
When I finished this exercise..
I was shocked.
In my mind I had to make $10,000/mo.
In reality, in order to live my dream life.
I only needed $2400 a month.
But most people are to lazy to calculate it.
“I just need one million, that would be enough”
Of course, but with your lazy mindset you will NEVER achieve those goals.
If you have calculated your freedom number. It is time to see how to make it practical.
$2400 a month...
That is $600 per week.
That is $85 a day
That is $3,50 per hour.
So how can I make $3,50 per hour, even when I am asleep?
How can I do that even when I am not working?
That is the answer you need to ask yourself.
Because if you’ve found a way to make $3,50 per hour for the rest of your life.
You never have to work a day in your life anymore.
So calculate your monthly spend. Then calculate your hourly passive income needed in order to live like that without worries.
Now you have escaped the system. You can travel around the world and do your own thing. No need to work for a boss anymore. No one telling you to wake up early. No one telling you to finish a task before the weekend. You can plan your own days and hours the way you like it. You can dine, go, and do whatever you want to do.
If you have escaped the system, congratulations. But it is not over yet. Because you are very selfish. It is time to make a bigger impact.
Final Stage: Abundance
What I see with people who hit their freedom number is:
They go to a nice country like Indonesia, Spain, Mexico and start to enjoy their life.
They want to go to all the parties, flex on instagram. And by all means, go for it. You should celebrate. But it is egoistic. Why just make enough money for yourself?
Why not try to help your parents? Why not try to help your friends? In the beginning, you can celebrate. Get the party things out of your system. But after a month of partying, you will see it is pretty boring.
Or you can skip the partying and instantly try to become a good man.
Someone who can take care of other people. Someone who will walk with God. Someone who fulfils his higher purpose.
Instead of just partying on the beach. You think God created you just so you can party? Pathetic. So after you’ve celebrated. It’s time to get to work again. You don’t want to just make enough money to get by. You want to live in abundance so you NEVER worry about it again. It all starts within your mind. That it is possible. Your thoughts lead to actions. If you think something is impossible. You will not take action. If you think it is 100% possible. You will take action.
Whether you believe you can or you can’t, you are right - Henry Ford.
