Journey of one mile begins with a thousand steps
Here is a brief intro on myself: I'm a father of four delightful daughters (ages 7, 5, 3, 1) and when not occupied with family and work, enjoy handyman projects and making everything more efficient. I also read and listen to a ton of non-fiction books/podcasts. I recently read Traction by Gino Wickman and the Jim Collins Good to Great books. Since I'm a scientist at heart, I use experiments just about everywhere and love to learn how things work. I have managed my own two properties in Erie, CO for the last six years while also working full time. Applying continuous improvement and process development skills from my full time work as an organic chemist to property management has resulted in efficient and effective systems to manage my properties. I want to share those systems for others to benefit in two ways. -Building a community for self-managing landlords and property managers to share best practices and resources. This would allow those who want to manage their own properties the ability to elevate their game and run their businesses at a more professional and profitable level, without having to go through years of experience and costly mistakes. -Develop a small book of local properties (Erie, Lafayette, Broomfield, Boulder, Louisville, Frederick) to manage for friends, family, coworkers and other connections to help them build wealth through owning real estate. Since I would make this a part time venture (10-15 hours per week) I would aim at a range of 10-20 properties. Both of these goals will also elevate the experience of the tenants to create better relationships between landlords/property managers and tenants, which may also curb the unfavorable laws that have been coming out recently. I am beginning my education to earn my real estate license this weekend and will be ready soon to launch my venture. This is going to be a group devoted to continuous improvement and building wealth. Positive collaboration is the standard and Negative Nancy's will be banned.
