We had a POWERFUL DUDE DOJO 🥋 today on RELATIONSHIPS. 🔥
From Caitlin V - Relationship Expert - compliments of our fellow dude, “You see, relationships are active work.
Especially when you’re with someone for a long time, it’s easy to fall into the trap of taking your bond for granted.
The longer you’ve been together, the more durable it can feel.
Like, if nothing has broken you up so far… Why would it now?
Well, that’s just not a healthy way to look at things.
And it’s certainly not productive.
Whether you’ve been seeing someone for 6 months or 20 years, communication and effort are the two things that keep your relationship healthy and alive.
Because at the end of the day? Relationships need investment.
Your relationship is a living, breathing organism…
If you don’t feed it, it’s probably not going to survive very long. No matter how old it is.
And if it’s sick? Pretending everything fine isn’t going to make it healthy again.
The thing is, sometimes it’s hard to come to your partner with an issue.
It’s hard to tell them that you’re feeling distant or unsatisfied.
It’s hard to dig into that pain and see what come up.
But it’s the only way to keep things going.
As uncomfortable and challenging as it may be, working through the tough times together and ACTIVELY is the thing that keeps a relationship strong.
Facing the tough times and not giving up is what keeps the relationship durable.
And this can apply to any situation… Whether it’s a relationship with a family member, a friend, or even with yourself.
As hard as it is, it’s always best to face the issue head on, with care and compassion.
Working through it before things get to the point of no return is always the better option.
I’m sure someone reading this had to hear that… I know I do every once in a while. ;)”
