Hey fam,
Ended up nailing down the foundational pieces for my brand identity, took some good notes from the first module. It came pretty easy b/c Ive already had the idea of what I wanted for this brand, the questions just solidified the concept. here we go:
Q: What kind of vibe do you want your brand to have?
A: A luxurious streetwear feel with a pinch of artistry—something that speaks through bold graphics but subtle colors. It’s the kind of fit you can wear to a family function, but also rock confidently at an exclusive event or a night out.
Q: Who do you want wearing your clothes?
A: A mix of sneakerheads, hypebeasts (the buy because it’s fire, not just hyped kind), “rich white boys”, and your average fly New Yorker. Add on The fathers of both. (Yacht Party with both dads rocking gone cause trouble smh)
Q: Why should your audience want to wear your clothes?
A: If you pay attention to details, if you ride with people who have purpose, if you want to look like you just smell good, if you want to be comfortable, fly, and still slightly professional—this is for you. If you want your homie to ask, “Yo, where’d you get this from?”—this is something only a few can really pull off, y’know? (this is the line you can wear any Jordan’s with 🙂↕️)
Q: What are three other brands you believe your brand aligns with?
A: I’d say it’s a blend of Polo/Ralph Lauren, a brand called Boredom Kills (check them out on IG), and this newer underground brand called Kingsplay—if ykyk. These are just off the top right now, as I go deeper this can alter later.
Name of the Brand: “Katori Kota”
Where creative design meets high-end streetwear.
The name has personal value to me, but if a random were to see it without any context, I feel like it gives off this high-end designer impression; but also a mysterious vibe to it too. Not like a spooky grungy Scooby doo mysterious, but something you never know what’s really going to happen next..
All in all, lmk how you guys feel about this breakdown, definitely interested in seeing everyone else’s brand identity breakdowns—throw them in the comments!
