*Bootcamp Date Change*
We are moving the start date for the upcoming bootcamp to Nov. 18th (to avoid a US holiday on the 11th) CISSP Study Group will host a $400, 5-day CISSP bootcamp starting ~9AM EST, on November 18th. Led by a CertFirst instructor, the bootcamp includes a full-length mock exam and access to a bank of practice questions. We've simplified the registration - to join, just unlock the course in the classroom tab. With only 7 spots left, please secure your place by unlocking the course ASAP (The sessions will also be recorded for any members who would like to take this bootcamp at their own pace.) Attached is a PDF with full details, which you can also submit to your employer for reimbursement.

Community Bootcamp starting Dec. 2nd
Hey everyone! Thanks to our amazing community, we’ve secured a fantastic group discount for a 5-day CISSP bootcamp, starting December 2nd for just $400 (normally $2,495)! 🎉 Because we’re doing this as a group, we’re able to get CertFirst instructor at a fraction of the cost. You’ll also get access to a full-length mock exam and a bank of practice questions. Joining is simple: just unlock the course in the classroom tab to secure your spot. We only have 10 spaces, so jump in soon if you’re interested! Sessions will be recorded, so you can participate at your own pace if needed. 👉 Attached is a PDF with full details, which you can also submit to your employer for reimbursement. Would love to have you with us!

Topic of the Day: Silicon Root of Trust
Silicon Root of Trust · The Root of Trust is a security concept that initiates a chain of trust to ensure that computers boot with legitimate code. · The Silicon Root of Trust extends this by embedding a "digital fingerprint" in the silicon chip of a server's hardware to verify the integrity of firmware. · This fingerprint is immutable and detects any tampering, disabling the server if malicious code is detected to prevent it from running. · If the Root of Trust is validated, the rest of the BIOS modules are validated through a chain of trust procedure until control is transferred to the operating system or hypervisor. Test your knowledge: Which principle(s) of the CIA triad are addressed by Silicon Root of Trust – confidentiality, integrity, availability?

Integrity
Q3
A record label's newly created synthesizer software has been deployed to the sound engineers in the music department. The lead producer has asked whether the software can be upgraded to import .WAV files in a compressed format. The developers stated it would be simple and quick to do. They will deploy an upgrade with the ability to compress .WAV files in the next software release schedule, pending approval. Twenty hours after the new software upgrade, the synth program started locking up the media server whenever attempting to import .WAV files. The server became accessible only after the security administrator performed an emergency system restart.Which due care measure should have been performed first?
